I guess you don't know until you tell him :)

I'll be telling my brother and sister soon, and there really is no way of knowing how they'll react.

Best of luck! :)

The best Alyssa! I hope it goes well and things continue as they are. Just remember if it turns into a negative it was he that made the choice to leave or push you away, not you. I applaud your efforts and think you look amazing. I will be thinking about you! :)

Good luck Alyssa... I hope all goes well.

I dread the day I have to come out to my brother... While I love him very much. he really is a male homophobic pig and treats women with total disrespect... So it will be an adventure to say the least.

I never had to come out to my brother, my sister told him for me :)

Not that it would have been a major issue, he co-wrote a book with another teacher who transitioned from MtF, so he is very familiar with this and has no problems.

I am so glad it went well for you... Coming out is tough, especially to family. I was actually discussing that topic in therapy today. My therapist said that in actuality people have more acceptance of trans people these days and I would actually will be surprised as I start coming out.

Anyway, I am really happy for you... Congrats.

I am glad it didn't go very bad. My sister was a lot like your brother and wanted all the information I had on Gender Dysphoria so she could talk to a specialist and cure me.*giggle* I suppose we both have to give them time and let it sink in a little better. I am so glad the relationship is still there and hope it brought some relief to you. :) Go girl!

<sigh of relief>

It sounds like it went pretty well over all. Congratulations!

I have found that for my family members while supportive have had their adjustment period as well. It's something that is so unfamiliar to them that it can throw them for a loop.

I'm sure as he see you progress it'll get easier for him.
