Susan's Place Transgender Resources

She was a buddy and a neighbor when we were in high school; i was friends with her parents and she helped me along with various romantic efforts I was involved in at the time by ruthlessly cajoling the other party to get with the program LOL.... And she knows absolutely everyone.

We reconnected on Facebook recently and have been saying some things back and forth over the past few months. Then she suddenly mentioned wanting to come out to L.A. to see me soon..... uh oh...... what to do?

So i forged ahead and told her that there had been a few changes in my life lately, and described them. I sent that email off having no clue how she would react.

She later responded and told me that she was happy for me and that she still wanted to come see me. Yay!

One down, many, many more to go........

Awwwww congrats. Its great to here that she is accepting of you.

Good for you. My best friend helping me with transition is a girl/woman I went to grammar school with. We are like sisters, we shop together, gossip, have a great time as girl friends.   

That's really great :) I hope you have a good time when she comes out to see you. What have you got planned?

I came out to a couple of friends of 20 years this past week too. Both of them were really cool about and very supportive. We're already making plans for shopping trips and weekends away :D

She is from a small southern state and has not traveled much in her life so flying into L.A. is going to be a big adventure for her. I think that we'll do the usual touristy stuff - go down and see Hollywood and Rodeo drive and see the Hollywood sign and maybe take a bus tour of Hollywood and stuff like that. I live pretty close to both Ventura and Malibu so the pacific is only 45 minutes away, and Venice beach/Santa Monica is nearby as is the Pacific Coast Highway. There are lots of museums here and lots of stuff to see and do so I'm going to let her choose what we do. I am in and around Hollywood all of the time since my therapist and endo are in that area so going down there is no big deal to me.

I am so happy for you Eva, glad it went well. As to LA, yes I think she will have a blast for sure. Lot of things to do and see. I'm in San Diego and I absolutely love it here.

Hey, San Diego!  8) I worked there for 3.5 years and that's where Eva bloomed and first came out in public in Hillcrest at Urban Mos, and at the pride center on 30th street - I really miss the San Diego vibe. It so sooooo beautiful there! I plan to visit some friends I have there sometime this summer; maybe we can meet each other then?

I am actually in North County but yes I do like the SD vibe for sure. Hillcrest can be a blast for sure. I tramped around there for a bit... LOL...  I would absolutely love to meet up. Cant say if I will be in full girl mode by summer as I am trying to lose some weight before I start HRT but it would be nice to meet never the less. I am just in the process of finding my circle of friends as Veronica so you would be a welcome addition for sure.

Cool. I will send you a PM when I know what the plans are going to be; my friends and I haven't firmed them up quite yet. I'd love to meet you no matter which mode you are in  8)
