Title: injecting testosterone - has this ever happened to you?

I have been on testosterone injections for about 4 weeks. I have tried doing it in the thigh and gluteal muscle, and have felt no pain around any injection site.
When I took my fourth dose, it hurt a little for the first time, and I think i did it at too much of an angle. I didn't think much of it though, until about 24 hours later, i noticed a firm lump in around the injection site, and I noticed that it felt itchy, like a huge mosquito bite.
It has been four days since I took my 4th dose, and the lump is still there, and still itchy. I can't tell if it is getting any smaller, but it is definitely not getting any bigger. I think it is just a little local reaction to having the T injected into the fat instead of the muscle. Nothing serious, but I am wondering how long it will take to disperse. It is getting annoying and I worry that I'm not really getting the dose.
Has this happened to anyone else while injecting T?

That's probably what it is. Why did you inject in the fat instead of the muscle?

I had this happen to me twice. I didn't inject into the "fat" at all - just intramuscular as per usual in the glute.
It was suggested to me by my doctor that a number of factors can cause irritation and swelling like that - sometimes due to cold weather and the oil not being warmed (by rolling or holding in your hand) enough before injection, sterile abcess, etc.

If its painful or you feel really concerned, talk to a doctor.
That being said I have had a few knots in my leg after injection (been on t two years, self injecting the whole time) twice before. It was deep, in the muscle. Went away after a week. I injected in a different location after that and went back after two weeks with no problem.
Edit to add: I've only ever injected in the thigh, so I can't speak to butt area injections

I had that happen about a month into treatment, too, and it kept happening for about two months. Turned out I was having a reaction to the oil the testosterone was suspended in. Eventually, my body got used to it, and it hasn't happened since. You do need to tell your doctor, though. A mild allergic reaction can turn into something more severe with little to no warning.
