Read this as well,  and it's very new and amazing.  Right not it's just being used on girls who didn't have a vagina to begin with,  and appears the implants were given at very young ages,  now will this be a viable option for the trans comunity:P

Amazing. It would be awesome if it would be used for trans girl, and even better if insurance would start paying (in the good ol USA).

Hate to burst your hopes girls, but it will not work for us. First you have to have a like cell (vaginal) to replicate the strand of DNA or your body will reject it even with Anti Rejection medications. You cannot just grow one in a lab with other DNA and expect it to take and be successful. These were done on cis girls with their DNA replicating. Better just plan on the time and expense of SRS for a minimum of 20 years or so.  :)

The mucosa lining of the inside of the mouth is very similar in elasticity, self-lubricating, and everbody has one. Sounds like a viable alternative.

Partly correct.  The hope for us lies in advanced stem cell technology.  It will allow us to use our own stem cells to create ANY kind of cells necessary.  And not just vaginal tissue; it may ultimately be possible to grow new, gender appropriate reproductive organs (uterus, ovaries, testes etc).  Because it will use our own stem cells there will be no rejection issues.

wow.. sounds very interesting.. I would love a uterus and some ovaries.. I am post op so.. those just need to added to the mix.. who knows maybe in a decade... medical science moves extremely quick. I am only 24.. so in 10 years I will be 34.. still young enough to have a baby..
