Title: When Binding Isn't Enough?

I'm sure this has been asked before. Some time ago I ordered the ultimate chest binder tank or whatever from underworks. I hate talking about this, but I'm a size C. I finally got comfortable enough to start wearing the binder, but even with the techniques of trying to make them look like pecs or whatnot, they still look like boobs, lol.
Well, to be perfectly honest, I've only been on T a few months and I still look very feminine. Think part of the problem is I need to lose more weight, because my facial structure and how the fat is on the face is still very er... not male like. So I think part of the problem is losing weight to slim down the booblets, but for now, I am hoping there are methods of flattening them out a bit more? I even remember talking to the lady from underworks and specifically ordering one for my size, yet yea... I try to tuck them up and towards the armpits like I heard from another website, yet it doesn't seem to be enough. Do any of you have any methods? Does wearing a tank under it help? I have no idea.
What I been trying to do is wear a shortsleeve hoodie overtop, and it helps a bit, but boy I am ready to die of a heatstroke and I am sweating all over my poor binder. (good thing I got black... ew) on a side note, methods of washing these mesh binders?
I am a bit overweight, but unfortunately, because I am short as well, and since it's early on, there isn't much I can do to pass... but I still try, but always get ma'am. I'm ready to punch somebody, but I know the rest of the world judges by the junk you got on ya so... bleh... a little help please?

Sounds like a rough patch you're in StormOfThorns!
I find that "down and out" works better than "up and out". This may be a matter of personal preference etc etc. Just one guy's view. I can't wear anything under the dang binder cuz then it just bunches somehow and feels funky.
As far as washing.....I have two methods, and some may disagree or have others.
#1- Buy some Woolite (or whatever the handwashing/delicate fabric equiv is where you are) and handwash the thing. A pain yes, but likely to end up in a longer lasting item.
#2-The same Woolite and the gentle cycle on the washing machine.
In either case, I let them air dry. I have heard that some will use the "air only" setting on the dryer....but with the way my dryer eats socks I am NOT having it get an appetite for binders. ;)

I always hand washed my binders in a sink with bar soap and cold water, and hung to dry. Dryers are not good for elastic.
Some guys experience the "gynecomastia" getting less dense/more floppy with time on T, and over time from binding. In the meantime, maybe try "down and towards the armpit" not up. Some shirts disguise things better than others, for instance, woven fabric vs. knit (if unfamiliar with fabric construction, think button-up shirt vs. t-shirt), knits tend to cling more. Layering sometimes helps. None of that helps avoid dying of heatstroke, unfortunately.

Since I work in an office (business casual dress code) I find that the vest/waistcoat from a suit is a wonderful thing for helping to hide! So are nicer men's shirts that are a tad thicker and so the lines from the binder don't show. If I am wearing a white or cream dress shirt, I have a vest. Blue, grey, etc it's a different story.
Forgot to mention that before.
And pants...what type of pants are you wearing?

I am right there with you Storm. I too am short, chubby and even still with the sports bra, underworks binder and the push down and out thing going on it just makes me look like I have a weird.. bubbly boobed chest and I am too size C.
Of course the junk in the trunk doesn't help a bit but I've noticed I feel a little better when I'm wearing a tshirt and then a button up over the top. Doesn't make everything stick out as much front wise.
On the washing part, I'm there with the hand washing. Binders aren't exactly super cheap and even if they were, it's just best to keep it around for longer than a few months. Hand wash it and hang it to dry.
We'll get there eventually. So tired of being called ma'am too so I feel ya.

darker colors help, I notice when I wear shirts that are darker over my binder, it makes my chest appear flatter, but if I wear white or lighter colors, my chest shows up more

I wear a very thin tshirt two sizes smaller than I'd normally wear under my binder. So it doesn't have a chance to bunch up. This allows me a few wearings between washes.
I'm a dd and also overweight. I find the 997 helps smooth/blend the whole front area from chest to hips.
It's not perfect, so I usually wear a tshirt and a button down over the binder. I don't know how I'm going to manage summer :(

Over time your chest will become easier to bind :)
