Title: Pole fitness/dancing for exercise!?? :D
Post by: eggy_nog on April 22, 2014, 09:10:07 AM
Hello! Recently I've become aware that lots of people do something called pole fitness, which I guess is pole dancing but purely for exercise purposes (and I guess for a significant other should they enjoy that hehe).

Anyways was wondering if anyone had experience in doing this - my 2 concerns are;

1. I am PRE op and is it a bad idea doing this since it exposes that region (I have some shorts that aren't tight which are suitable to wear but you know what I mean).
2. Is it relatively easy to start out, or is it impossible apart from with lots of practice? I used to rock climb, but had to stop, so I think the strength thing should be ok (although it's massively reduced since I started hrt :S)

Thanks! :)

Huuuumm well there was this one time where I dropped my iPod three days after my SRS and I could walk around kinda fine so I went 'Meh I should be okay' *bends down to grab iPod* then it happened... felt like sandpaper being rubbed a little too rough against me labia (it was my shorts ) however I must tell you that I didn't pick up my iPod I almost reached it tho. *stands back up and goes to sit on sofa then yells to mum in kitchen*
'Mum I dropped my iPod!'
Mum:*sighs really loud*....again?

ohh no I said PRE op haha. I meant is it either going to be painful/uncomfortable for that area/will it be exposed for everyone to see O_O (I would like to avoid any awkward situations)

Thanks anyway :)

This is definitely on my to-do list - post op - so hopefully by the end of this year. Exercise wise im already doing a lot of core work - and learning how to selectively activate different muscle groups and change breathing patterns. Hello flat stomach; goodbye unwelcome bloating.... which will help with the strength on the pole...
