So ladies, what kinda crafts do yall do? This is a thread just to share projects you are working on or crafts that you like. Or just general craft thread? Uh, eye candy and inspirations are welcome! Maybe it will give some motivation to be creative :)

Personally, I actually sew, though my sewing space is so cramped right now and I'm setting up a better space and redecorating the room, so all I've been doing is backed up hemming projects for now. I guess more accurately i'm a girl with a caulk gun, though i let the bf do that for this room, eugh. It's nice to be able to hem stuff though because I have short legs and when shopping sales... yah know.. I'm also gonna be trying to make a DIY dress form once my figure is where i think it's gonna stay, and then start to learn draping. And hopefully more alterations.

My sewing idol is Austin Scarlett :) he's just gorgeous.

Otherwise I am looking to get into knitting and maybe jewelry making. I love stuff that's decorated with lil sculpey bling. It's so fun.

I love to sew. My mom bless her heart taught me at a very young age... I also knit a little but do woodworking as well. Mostly small detailed stuff like clocks and what not... But by far my passion is cooking... I love to throw a good dinner party.

I was taught to knit at school when I was very young. Maybe 5 or so. I really got into it, too. Used to filch my mum's wool and needles, lol. Haven't done it in absolutely ages though. Might be worth giving it another go. From what I remember it was very relaxing.

Yep that's why I want to get back into it. I need a hobby like that. Something you can just sit down with a warm cup of tea and do. Sometimes I've been happy to mess up seams sewing so I could go out and seam rip them. As a lil girl I did crochet, but I never figured out how to make more than scarves... that was relaxing too though :)

Gotta bow out of this discussion. I am hopeless dealing with anything in three dimensions. I can do much less bodily injury and property damage in the digital world.

I always wanted to learn how to sew, but I was never good at it.  Like I could fix a little rip or something small, but never went too far with it.  If only I could design my own clothes. The more clothes I keep buying the more I want to cry given how expensive my taste is.  I think my wardrobe has been the most expensive aspect of my transition so far, lol.

Ugh yah absolutely. I swear I buy like 100 bucks of clothes practically every week. Bad outlet..

Yeah, I wish 100 dollars sounded like a lot, lol.  Then again, I have to buy more given where I am in my transition.  Though shopping as an outlet of our feelings is really not a good idea. 

I like cooking and baking. I just made some sugar cookies from scratch and made home mad frosting to go with it. They tasted so good, but I can't eat anymore of them  :(. I kind of want to get into sowing but I was bad when I tried it when I was younger. I do find it funny though that despite being an overly feminine fruit bowl I can go shooting with the guys. There are so many hot guys at the range too bad they are mostly crazy. Maybe if I make some cookies and holsters for them they might talk to me.

I try my hand at gardening. I have a rather sad, wilted sickly brown thumb...

I like to help who ever when ever work on just about anything. I love working on murals and bird houses and all sorts of stuff. I just don't have the drive to make a hobby/craft other than painting miniature gaming figures and model kits my own.

I make crappy silver jewelry that I buy, pick apart and put back together into my own creations. It's really nothing special I just hate having the same stuff as people, so I have to make everything mine. I've been looking into buying a sewing machine, not like the really good kind that gets mounted, just a regular old Singer, but they're all so damn expensive. But that's mainly so I can hem and fix clothes, not make them. I have these purple capris that have holes in the knees and I want to sew the holes over (or under) with a a lavendar print. maybe something like a bandana print. It was actually my BF's idea, so we'll so how it looks. He's real snazzy, dapper fella though so it could work.

Joanna, you might try eBay or some of your local thrift stores, also Craigslist might be a good place to look for a used sewing machine... There out there... Pretty reasonable prices too.

A good used one would be like $150. I was looking for something more than like a 10-stitch starter kit. But, really, I have probably just watch "Coco Before Chanel" too many times lol

Back in High School I was really in to hemp macrame; my girlfriend at the time started to get tired of all the things I "made for her" ::) . I have been thinking about giving that a go again lately. I had managed some pretty intricate designs though I don't know if I have the patience these days...

I have a glue gun and know how to use it, and just bought a second hand Singer and am learning how to use it too, amazing all the things it can do. I like being being creative and built this 6000 gallon Koi pond entirely all by myself because I had a vision of the beauty and serenity it would add to my back yard. My hobby is caring for these Koi fish and growing them big. They can live to 100 and grow three feet long.

My favorite use of a glue gun was always what I did in Science Brain Bowl in high school, where we built trebuchets out of balsa wood, pennies, paperclips, and pantyhose. That was always fun! :)

Very impressive! I imagine this is a quite lovely place to relax. My mother had a Koi pond at a previous house; I just loved to listen to the water and watch the Koi swimming gracefully. The seem to be particularly well suited to our beautiful and mossy neck of the woods wouldn't you say?

My MiL gave me this adorable lamp for my craft/sewing room that I am redecorating... it makes me want to start... but waiting on carpet... sigh ;o; the current carpet is like pukey aqua and i can't stand it so i'm at least getting an area rug.

Yes, very much so! I'm just learning how to use my new Singer sewing machine, I want to be able to modify and re-taylor certain items of clothing to fit my shape better than just off the rack things. I'm always amazed at women who can make their own fashionable clothes. As a starter I love my skinny jeans but being 5' 7" the 30" inseam as posted by the manufacturer is occasionally too long. 30" to one manufacturer is not the same 30" of another and there is too much disparity in off the shelf jeans and I am occasionally stuck with rolling a little cuff at the bottom on jeans that otherwise fit nicely, from now on they will be the right length.
After that I plan to make a skort.

I would love to do more traditional canvas based artwork and welded sculptures but what pays the bills much better is painting and building custom motorcycles for customers all over the country.
