Title: Throwing open the doors (My friends are awesome)

Over the past week, I have completely come out to my closest friends, and without a single hiccup!
My siblings are all much older than I am (by 16 years minimum) so we have never been close and they have never been much a part of my life (different fathers too). Both parents are gone, so my closest friends have become my family.
Today the best of those friends took me shopping for ties and a suit. She thankfully has a lot of fashion sense. The one close friend who is a cis guy is now planning "guy weekends" for the two of us, and the third (female) friend has offered to use her personal business connections to help me find a new (and more awesome) job that might better support and encourage me as trans*. (not sure what the current job will do.....but not quite there yet)
And the three of them want to have a big "naming" party for me. How the (*&%^^&$!(#*&%!* did I get this lucky?? I love my friends....

That's wonderful news! When I came out to my friends things didn't go so well in fact things were better with how my mother reacted compared to how my friends did. By the way your friends seem to be really awesome and supportive, cherish them.

Aww, that sounds awesome. The naming party sounds fun. I'm glad it went well for you.

@Greeneyedrebel, my friends have been super supportive, but not that far! Then again, we're all still under the command of our parents, three of us (including myself) can't drive, and three of us (including myself) don't have a job. I also chose my name somewhat soon, as I had been thinking of this my entire life just about, so the naming party would kinda be for naught, though I did shoot off ideas to them! One of them is buying me binders (not binder, binders :D ) and the other calls me "good sir," "boy," etc. Another calls me Rubix Cube. So, while they haven't gone as far as parties and clothes shopping, they have been nothing but supportive. (Then again, 99.5% of my clothes I had already were men's xD )

Sounds like they are giving their all!!!
My clothes were/are mens too....but that one just decided I needed fashion help. (Can't match a tie to a shirt to save my life unless it was a white shirt....)

My friends (at least the ones down here in FL) have been very supportive (the ones I've come out to anyway). One, female, wants to go shoe shopping with me and take me to Ulta. She also gave me some of her extra eye shadow palettes and some nail polish. No naming party or anything crazy like that, but them making sure I know they are there for me and that I can talk to them is a huge thing to me, as I am a huge introvert, and have trouble talking about stuff in general.

It's great to hear how kind-hearted friends can be and quite sad sometimes that friends are more supportive then family

Well, One mantra I've learned to live by: Friends are the Family you choose. Therefore your real and true friends should be as supportive and accepting as your family should be. Or, at least, once they are able to cope and adjust to it. Some just take longer to accept it within themselves than others when you drop that bomb on them, though one of my friends had pretty much already guessed that I was trans before I told him.
