Post by: daphne black on April 29, 2014, 12:51:42 AM
I was on my 3 rd weekly Estradiol Velarate injection yesterday, and today I woke up and feeling very tired. I had the same thing with the last 2 injections. How can I cure this?

That is common with the start of hrt. As the body lowers a hormone it is used to having, you get tired (estrogen as well as any AA's if you are on any) cause this. After sone time when your adrenals, and pituitary, no longer recognize T as the "superior" hormone, you will, or should, subside that feeling.

My own take on it is if you take enough estrogen to replace the lost androgen, you should not feel tired at all. Tiredness that persists may be a sign that you're not taking enough estrogen.

i used to ask my brother who is a doctor, he said its normal after injection .. that has nothing to do with not enough estrogen in system ... not good idea to encourage OP to inject more estrogen , its dangerous. ..

i think OP should talk to her endo.

We'll leave that to Daphne's doctor to decide. If it's what she's been prescribed it's what she should be on.

Daphne - you should talk to your doctor about possible causes and solutions, it may or may not be linked to the injections and it's better to get to the bottom of the matter ASAP.

It was just my opinion but as always, consult with your doctor. Share your concerns and what you find on forums such as these with him/her and let them decide what to do. :)

I, myself, am on injections and do not feel tired after injections nor in the days that follow. I actually have more energy now than I had when I was taking estrogen orally. BUT, to each their own. We all react differently. Let your doctor figure out what's really going on. ;)

I concur with Grace's advice to consult your doctor. While this forum can tell you about the experience of others, we are not physicians. It could be that your stress level increases just by going to the doctor. (I know that mine does.) But I think it's best to check it out with a professional.
