I'm wondering, I'm a straight female, I like men. But, I love FTM. What is going on? Can anybody explain what is going on with me? Is it that I'm Bi, or what?

As an FtM, I don't think it makes you bi if you like FtM's. That said, it's up to you, not your partner to define yourself however you feel comfortable.

Sorry to break subject but something funny just struck me.
Dennis you've gone from the only Dennis for us, to the first Dennis, to now the 'other' Dennis, hopefully not to Dennis who. LOL

A true FTM (Like Dennis the "Hunk" :icon_cool: ) is a man so there is nothing weird going on, you are just heterosexual. Don't worry about labels or what people think, just do what feels right.

Well, how do you mean you also love ftm? I know straight women who are attracted to ftm transsexuals the same as they are attracted to "normal" men. Then there're straight women who are particulary attracted to ftms with the idea that ftms are men who "know what it's like to be a woman". Which maybe some do, I don't know; I know what it's like to be raised and treated as female, but am totally clueless as to what it's like to actually be female. I don't understand women, or know how to communicate with women, any better than the next guy. I also know lesbians who are also attracted to ftms; and also self-proclaimed straight ftms, attracted to gals, not guys, but who are also attracted to other ftms, which kind of bothers me: Don't they consider themselves men? don't they consider me a man? So how can they want me, but not a "bio-guy"?
Altogether though, you like who you like, you shouldn't be concerned with labels. I primarily like guys, I occasionally dig a gal, I don't call myself gay or bi; people are people, you know?

I agree, Melissa. I suppose it depends on how long you lived as the wrong gender or your own analytical capabilities, but I would hope that having experienced sexism as the recipient would make me much less likely to practice it now that I'm on the other side of the river.
Also, I've *had* PMS. How many guys can say that? Not, I think, that it would help me understand that any more than other guys, other than being secure in the knowledge that if someone has it badly enough that I notice it, I need to run away and hide.
Seriously though, I don't think I can fully understand what it is to be female, but I think I'm further along than a lot of bio guys unless they're exceptionally empathetic. On the other hand, maybe if I had been a bio guy I would have been one of those empathetic guys. Maybe my trans status has nothing to do with it.

I suspect such a guy would be either a preop MtF or a post op FtM. >:D

Hi Hawksfan...
I haven't read all the posts in this thread, but I just wanted to offer my opinion. I consider myself a straight female. I have never been attracted to females. I am madly in love ::) with an FtM. I STILL consider myself a straight female. Just because my S.O. has parts that are not traditionally what society says he should have, does not make him any less male.
Take care,
Pam

First Hi Pam! we really are going around this site together!
Qoute:
"Then there're straight women who are particularly attracted to ftms with the idea that ftms are men who "know what it's like to be a woman". Which maybe some do, I don't know; I know what it's like to be raised and treated as female, but am totally clueless as to what it's like to actually be female. I don't understand women, or know how to communicate with women, any better than the next guy.'
Okay this is great! I had the misconception that my ftm partner would 'get' everything from both genders. I expected he was raised as a girl and probably had a lot of the same stereo-typical female experiences from society at large. Perhaps some experiences where the same or similar but his whole thought process and understanding is radically different than that of any women I know (ie like a guy ;) ). He started his transition quite young too so I am sure this had an impact.
That brings me to another point. I have to agree with Pam ...

... except for the straight part. I (to my fiancée's dismay) consider myself bisexual. My ftm is nothing like the women I dated. Loving him doesn't make me bi ~ sleeping with women did that.
Anyways food for thought. I am a big believer in self-determination so whatever you come up with I hope it sits right with you. :D

On the flip side, I'm an ftm who identifies as a gay male. I like men, I can't help it. I dont identify as 'straight' because I used to be female, nor do I dentify as 'straight' because my bf is ftm also. To me he's a guy, a male. End of story.
Gender and Sex are different. Sex is your genes. Gender is how you think. True a lot of people don't realize this, but still, it's a truth :)

Stop being so concerned about what 'label' of sexuality you are. There are as many different sexualities in the world as there are fingerprints -- You can't hope to classify them by such terms as 'straight,' 'bi' and 'gay.'
