Title: Snee-kee STP
Post by: aleon515 on May 12, 2014, 04:38:08 PM
Hi,

This is kind of a quick review. But I think this is a nice product. This is the Snee-kee STP (made by Pee-zee). This is a queer owned company that is very trans guy friendly. They produced the Snee-kee to be smaller and stealthier for trans guys. This is a small STP (7 1/2" x 2" at the widest point). It is completely flat and fits in my jeans pocket, which are boy's jeans. I think a tiny bit shows at the top, but no one would know what it was. I was able to use it the first time so I think that makes it *very* easy! I have a very hard time with these things. The only other one I can work is the PStyle which is a nice device but *very* hard for us guys to carry. I needed a bit of tp, but it does shake off fairly nicely. With all the crappy STPs out there it's too bad this one doesn't get more attention as it does actually work well. I'd worry a bit about durability as it is made of flexible plastic. I've heard they got better plastic for it recently. Since they changed their plastic they can't yet find clear and various "people colors". I got a gray. They are looking for better colors. Due to the durability factor and colors, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. Otherwise it's a 5.

Note: packaging could improve. It comes in an envelope in ordinary mail but it says Pee-zee. Sounds strange, but otherwise it's great. There is a picture of a male looking person and a little flyer. There is a male looking person on the website here in the kind of situation we've all been in: http://peezee.weebly.com/ftm.html (there's also a tripod site that's a little odd). But web navigation is easy.

Price is $17 in Canada and $18.50 in US with discounts for more. This includes shipping.

Note: I got a reply back after posting this today (5/8): They are willing to not include the logo on the product. (If you order you can request the logo not be on it and color via email). They felt that sometimes the seam is not as sturdy as others. They make these by hand, so there may be differences in them. Also they recommend replacing yearly, if you don't lose first.  JJ

Strangely the product is cheaper here: http://pee-zees.tripod.com/id17.html

Thanks for the tip! That looks like an interesting design, and it would be great to have something less bulky than the one I have now -- which works best for me as a "kneel-to-pee" device when I'm in a tent, anyway.

May be a bit tougher than I thought. I had read complaints about it giving along the seams, but it seems like they have corrected this (along with perhaps losing their ability to sell clear and "person colored" plastics). I know a guy who said he has had his 3 years, though he doesn't use it all the time. He's very happy with his too.

One thing I am not as happy about is the lettering on the STP saying it is a snee-kee and the company name Pee-zee. They probably think little about this, as why would they?  But I think it may be a little less safe if dropped. It has a very neutral shape that doesn't read "packer", "I'm a fake penis". This is a good safety thing, but having lettering on it removes this somewhat. This is really minor stuff but could
improve the product.
