My GRS is scheduled for 5 weeks from today with Dr. Brassard. Since I live so far away, there has not been an opportunity for a consultation and the only opportunity I will have for this consultation will be a brief interview the morning of the surgery. For those of you who've been to Brassard, I just wonder what kinds of things you asked him or talked about. What is the best way to maximize this short amount of time, I wonder?

Suggestion from me would be write them down.
Basically he will look at your donor material, tell you he may or might not have to use donor skin from your thigh.
If you have any questions or concerns. He is a quiet gentle man, very handsome ;-)
You will also when you get admitted to the hospital have time to ask question of the nurses and staff.
I live here and my consult was about 6 months in advance and took about 10 min total. Only thing I have meet with Dr.B on many occasions both in Montreal and with my therapist in NJ. All my questions been answered way in advance.
Relax, the staff is there for you anytime.

Tammy,
I'm based in the UK so a face to face consultation with Dr B in advance was not practical.
Once I sent in sufficient documentation to prove I had been referred for GRS I was able to arrange a Skype video call with Dr Bellanger. this lasted about 15 minutes during which time she answered a slew of questions I had and ... basically ... made me feel very comfortable.
I'm scheduled in for Sept 30 :)
