Title: A problem with pants

I just spent the better part of 2 hours trying to get actual mens' pants. In that amount of time I ended up with one pair and a pair of over-sized womens' jeans that I can at least have them sit in the right spot.Even then, the mens' pair are at least 4 inches too long.
The whole time I was either struggling with my hips or my thighs.
Does anybody have go-to brands or stores they can recommend to fit someone who is short, has wide hips and is a bodybuilder?I'm at a loss.
If it can fit over my quads,it's too long or won't fasten. Are there pants for this kind of annoying physique,or am I just going to fall back on wearing womens' in a manly way?

I don't have that kind of physique, but men's pants are always several inches too long on me. I just have them altered.

Finding pants that actually fit? Nearly impossible. Most of the time they are way too long. I upsize if I can so at least they fasten at the top and are kind of baggy around my hips section so it makes them look less flared out.
For length I found this neat little tutorial to hem pants on and the tape really gives it that much cleaner look and doesn't require a sewing machine. http://www.wikihow.com/Hem-a-Pair-of-Pants

As Kreuzfidel mentioned, tailoring is always an option (and probably the best option with a persistent problem such as this).
Try and see if anyplace around you that sells clothes offers tailoring -- or, if you can afford it, you can find a tailor specifically -- some places even offer free tailoring. A lot of articles I've read about clothes/men's fashion/whathaveyou actually recommend tailoring. It tends to be an exception to the norm for something to fit properly right off the rack whether one's cis or trans.
Not sure your exact situation or body type or anything, so I don't know whether this is a viable option for you as relates to your dysphoria or anything, but it's probably the option with the least headache and the least time-consuming if it's a possibility for you. It can also be used regardless of what item of clothing you're purchasing or struggling with.

You can go bespoke. I've got a place for trousers that's like $30-$50 at the inexpensive end. A lot of places sell short inseams (28 inches is the shortest I've seen).

I definitely have a hard time fitting in men's pants. Been doing it anyway for years, and it works okay for athletic shorts and cargo pants... but it's difficult to get any proper pants, or even jeans, that fit right.
You're not alone!

I have a really hard time since my legs are all muscle even after losing all the fat on them. I can usually find one pair out of ten that fit right. I typically but uniqlo but that's in Japan.

Thanks guys.
Hemming I can do myself, kind of resigned to long legs being an issue forever.
To be more specific about the issues-It's hellishly hard to find pants that don't fit like potato sacks or over-accentuate my hips to the point of ruing any illusion of masculinity. I'm working around a broad-as-hell pelvis (39in around), a bubble butt and big ol quads.Either too snug on the hips or too much around the thighs.

MAAB, here. Presenting male. Don't feel too bad, I have trouble finding men's pants that aren't too long, as well. Off the rack you take your chances and hem them if able. Dressier stuff usually comes unhemmed and the tailor at the store hems them for a fee. Often they'll adjust other seams as well.
Jeans typically are too low and eventually wear to the right length.

Just went shopping today and still have a hard time with pants. I'm just not sure how they are suppose to fit in the waist then I just frown at myself for not being washboard abs.

I wear primarily mens shorts and pants but I always have a problem with the waist. To fit my hips/thighs I have to have a certain size but my waist is much smaller so I constantly wear them down several inches below my waist. Is there a better way to get around that or am I stuck constantly low riding? LOL

I never could wear women's pants. I either got squished in the waist or looked like I was wearing riding jodhpurs.

I want to second what Dee said. I have to roll up the cuffs on most of my pants, and even then, they don't stay and I end up walking on the backs of them. It occurs most frequently with jeans. Nearly all of my jeans end up terrible looking by the feet as a result. I typically end up taking either scissors or a knife and cutting off the damaged parts. It'd be nice if they just came in a 28" length, but it's hard to find any shorter than 30".

I don't ever wear women's jeans. To me they don't read male. I have gotten boy's 16 husky and these work. I can find jeans but other pants are hard to locate. I look for something with an inseam of about 29 or so. I can hem pants, but I dont' like to, can't say I do a very good job either.
They don't fit so well, but I have gotten pants from blair.com (US and probably CA). They have elastic waists with belt loops and also hidden elastic and that sort of thing. If you are a stocky build they might work. Read the reviews.
I don't think of them as 100% wonderful. But they do somewhat work depending.

I got an average waist size even for guys (I know my size in ladies too) I like guys pants more than ladies, but sometimes I look at the mens jeans and I just am like they seem almost exactly the same. I can't really find them not too long for me but I'm ok with them as long as they are around 30 in length.

Lands End offers custom hemming for a large portion of it's pants, for both men and women. The shortest inseam is 26" - good for short folks like me. The down side is that their pants don't fit me very well. The men's pants anyway. And the women's pants, even the really plain ones have crazy wide legs or other 'flair' that makes them so I can't wear them.
Now, as a person with a large body (for now), I have had incredible luck with Old Navy's loose fit jeans and chinos. They fit SO WELL. I do have to take them in to be tailored, but that's fine. They fit perfectly.

Yup. For me 32/30 or 32/31 jeans (m/f whatever, sometimes they are really the same...) would be the most perfect size ever, but such size does not exist, so it is 32/32 and then tailoring.
