So, looking for suggestions for an inexpensive tripod. Looking for one that is universal. That will hold my digital camera and also a set of binoculars I have which also takes pics.

Gitzo and manfrotto are Creme de la Creme and expensive to boot. But there are many good less expensive ones which work. Which type of digital camera is it - point and shoot or something heavier?
Folding tripods with three leg sections are more sturdy - when you have a heavy camera. Otherwise a good one should allow you to change height from about 20cm above ground to eye height (for binocculars). Search amazon forow cost ones and check the reviews. I bought my father one for about 80 Gbp a couple of years ago. It had a small water bubble spirit level and lockable ball head. It's all be needed for his canon rebel and 450D devices. Sorry can't remember the brand
