Title: (UK) Referral for under-18 for private top surgery?

I am hoping to have top surgery with Mr Andrew Yelland, privately. He is happy to operate on a minor but needs a letter of referral. The Tavistock and Portman was not able to write a sufficient letter as they are an adolescent service and a (private) referral from Richard Curtis would take 5+ months to go through.
My question is, can your GP refer you for top surgery, and if not, any suggestions for getting a referral within the next four weeks? I'm aware it's a ridiculously short time frame and I sound like a spoiled brat but I have been pushing for the last year to try and bring this through and I would really like to have top before I start my new school in september.

Hopefully, someone from the UK will answer you. You all do things differently over there. Your gender therapists/SRS surgeons, don't necessarily follow the WPATH standards of care, like the U.S. does.

I didn't go private so I don't know much about it. But did yelland say who he needs a referral from?
As I used him and he needed two referral from my gender clinic.
Why not try the place in cross in London ( as I hear a lot of people go through him and gets things done quicker) and I don't think a gp can. hope someone can give you a better answer.

Just a general comment on people that are not of age. I really think the parent is going to need to be involved unless you are an emancipated minor. The doctor is going to listen to the adult more. It's ageist but that's the way it is.
