Title: I made a mistake today - thank you Helen.
Post by: Cindy on June 03, 2014, 10:09:19 AM
I was asked to meet a person today to help with her assimilation into society. A pretty woman who was very bright, lovely and intelligent - and who was born with severe congenital physical issues. She lives in a motorised chair and I thought had few things going for her. On top of her 'deformities' she is TG.

My mistakes: I felt sorry for her. I thought she must have a terrible life. I felt and expressed sympathy. I admired her courage.

Goddess was I put in my place!

I was told, every day is a joy. My life is my life, get over your sympathy and grow up, your sympathy for me is a reflection of your own issues not mine. I love being me, why don't you love being you?

We had lunch and then some shopping and we got her a nice top. Judell's in Glenelg rock!!

If and when you log on Helen I told you I would leave a post for you.

Yes I did grow up today

Thank you.

Thank you Cindy,
I would like to know Helen.  She is a powerful reminder that we are not the sum of what we can do, but rather we are the expression of who we are.  As a trans-woman, it is a bit annoying to be told that I am brave, or any such accolade.  I'm not, if I have could not transitioned, I wouldn't have.  Regardless, I love my life and am happy, joyous, and free.

Hugs to both of you,
Julie

But to get to meet her I probably have to journey down under.  Which when I think about it is a pretty good idea.

Is the only source of heat in Australian homes from branding iron fires?  Am I missing something?

I would love to meet you all as well. I want to sizzle as a woman, but not literally sizzle though! ;D

Your post gave me some things to think about as well Cindy. :)

Yes it is an energy saving device. Warms you three ways, when you run away, when you are branded and when you jump around holding your bum.
