Title: Binder that won't cause back pain?
Post by: campenella on June 16, 2014, 04:27:54 PM
Hi there, it's summer and usually I don't go out much, but I'm on the job hunt and I've noticed a huge flaw in underworks for me. Eventually they all give me back pain. Like the first few weeks are smooth, but then I start getting lower to mid back pain. I recently cut one of my binders to get rid of the lower back pain, but now where the binder ends, my back pain begins. It's huge cramping, not squeezing pain. I use the compression sports bra on my gym daysand even that can give me some back cramping issues, less so but it lasts the whole day. I'm a larger guy with a larger chest so any suggestions would be welcome. $40 is the high end for me, I can't really afford more than that for a binder with me saving up for top surgery.

What are you doing the gym?  I know for me a tight binder gives me problems in the gym doing some for the movements and exercises.

When I was doing acrobatics it was pretty much fine, I do low impact things like treadmill and bicycling to keep my back from hurting.  Even just walking around can be an issue sometimes and I'm going to my doctor about it, i'm just sort of at ropes end bc besides top surgery there isn't much I can do besides lose weight which is putting me in a catch 22.

I don't think you're going to be able to find one, unfortunately. A slightly larger binder may help though.

That sucks because I use a double comporession and it's at the right size and in the summer isn't exactly convincing without layering. The compressing sports bra is really comfortable and light if it has issues. I'll just have to find another work around

You maybe in a catch22 if you are on the large size. I am in the b/c range and have a bra vest compression top that work for me in the gym.
