This  is  gonna be awkward ,

Ive been discussing vfs surgery with  my mom for quite a while and she  has agreed to let   me  go and do it,
but she   is only willing to do that if I prove   to her that drKim is not a  fraud  but rather a very good proffesional doctor ...
Ive   show her everything  I  could , his biography ,  facts ,before and afters,stuff here on susans etc etc etc  etc
but for some reason its  not enough for her and she still thinks  that all of these  could  be  fake , fixed etc
talk about paranoia !!!!!

Nonetheless  I  seriously need your help,
is there a way to  prove to her that  all this is legit? I thought about contacting koreas ministry of health  to  ask,im not sure...
I would   really appreciate it if some of you girls  who  had the surgery  would reply  here  for my mom to see,maybe that  could help...
I  dunno, Im desperate...Ive done everything I could but my mom is just paranoid ...

Please  get me out of  this  mess  girls...

Maybe ask your mum what she would accept as a proof and then give it to her or tell her that her request is unreasonable.

Also you could offer to go there, bring the money and go to the clinic for the examination and then decide, then she can see for herself.

What kind of fraud does she think that would be going on there?

My mom had the same reservations. She actually hung up on me after saying in tears "YOU ARE NOT GOING TO KOREA" so I totally get it. However I had already booked the surgery ;)

I think the general consensus when a lot of people hear "Korea" they think of some kind of third world or communist country where things are bad bad bad. Well, Seoul is exactly the opposite- and seemingly all of S. Korea for that matter. North Korea is a whole other story. Seoul actually has a higher concentration of plastic surgery than Beverly Hills, and technologically probably twice as advanced. It is the most advanced city in the world right now... the new land of opportunity. Granted, I think it is still hard for some to wrap their head around it.

If you need anything let me know, my videos speak for themselves but I have also seen a well known otolaryngologist in LA and she was absolutely blown away with the work that Dr. Kim did. She said she had seen nothing like it! FWIW

Lol.. has she ever seen the music video for "Gangnam Style"? That is an EXTREMELY close depiction of what it's actually like there. Super ritzy, super glamorous, everyone dressed to the nines wearing designer dresses and expensive suits. It's a sight to behold :o

I would feel sooo out of place there coming from semi-rural Bavaria :P - But it sounds like Munich central - Gucci, Versage and all the stuff :D - I think indeed your videos and the ones of the others speak for themselves, Jenny - although I guess in some cases it would be good to rather check out the long term videos, not the ones at 2 months where in some cases there is a bit of hoarseness still present from the swelling and botox. But I really wonder what does she need to be fine - more good examples? Some nice photos of the area around the clinic, the city, the clinic itself? Is she worried about Korea as it is foreign or is she worried about the procedure or about a good VFS being impossible and this being just someone pretending to be good at it?

Or does she think, as some people I know, that he produces mixed results but only the good examples will post back here and on his youtube channel again after the surgery to show how good it is with the ones that did have less success being quiet? That is of course hardest do disprove as there are no independent statistics except that in this forum almost all who went there reported back later with only 3 or 4 critical voices (mostly not related to the result, caused by external circumstances or because they feel it was not enough change for them. So I guess that is what I think - in the worst case, the change will not be enough, but I have not yet seen a damaged voice.

but its  probably that she  thinks that there is too much  risk and that as anjaq said they  post only  the good  results...

About not hearing bad results - well, there is little to really say about it. This is the case for any procedure - there is always the chance that people who are unhappy about it will not speak up. I think this forum is quite honest, although there were 2 people who were at first not happy about their visit to Korea and did end up leaving and even deleting posts. But I dont know how to convonce someone about these concerns - they are of ocurse not invalid and basically hard to discern as you can show more and more good results and not get anywhere. Its an impossible task to prove that something is 100% reliable.

I doubt that talking to someone would convince her ("its only one lady and her result was good, what about all the others?") ;) - what I can imagine is, if you are determined and say "look, I will do this not matter what. I would reall love if you would accompany me, but if you do not want, I will go with a friend" - maybe she will eventually come around , given that she cannot deter you anyways?

she got mad cause I told her I will take my gf who I  know for  5  months ...she said I need  to take someone who she  can  trust    more...
she is treating me like a child ...

*sigh* this is gonna  be kinda tough

Is she paying for the procedure or contributing to it financially? If not, what do you mean by 'she let you get VFS?' I got the impression you was over 18.

Ok, then I understand. if she will have to pay for it, she better should be in favour of it... I hope she will come around. Ask her what would convince her and see if it is reasonable.
