Title: Missing an entire week on Dutasteride ?

So I goofed up and went a little overboard on shopping online this week and didn't realize that the mortgage is coming out before my next paycheck. I have just enough to cover it, but that means I can't get my script filled until next week (Avodart is over $100 for a refill) and I just took my last dose.
I was going to go get it filled today but that's not happening. Need gas and food for a week :D
Anyone ever miss a week on Finasteride or Dutasteride? Does it make a huge difference? I've been on Dutasteride for only 60 days and haven't had any noticeable regrowth. I'm growing my hair out but it still looks like zombie Bill Murray.

Wow $100 for how long of a supply? I think my costs come out to like $25 a month for a generic without insurance.

Where are you getting a generic dutasteride? Walgreens told me a generic won't be available until next year!
I think it was like $105 last month and that was with a $50 off coupon from Avodart.

At a pharmacy online, they are overseas but seem to have no problem with American perscriptions. Avodart is just too pricy for me otherwise, I don't care so much who makes it or what country it comes from. There are at least 3 companies already making generics already, the US regulatory system just isn't quick enough to approve things I fear.
I just started having noticable regrowth in the corners of the M shape on my hairline and I am not sure if it is the dutasteride, minoxidil or somehow the bicalutamide but, at this rate my hairline is going to look right without surgery so for me it is worth it.

Dutasteride has a REALLY long half-life. Like, seriously, its half-life is 4-5 WEEKS.
You're not going to see any negative effects whatsoever from missing it for a week.

Dammit, beat me to it Carrie! (Hugs!)
I'm buying my last round of Dutasteride today before the orchi!
And yes, my hairline is back to where it was when I was about 22 years old after 1 1/2 years on E and fin and a year of dut.
I hope the corners fill in more and can get it back to where it was when I was 16.

BTW- "Dudasteride" seriously sounds like an accidental Jill-ism. LOL

lol, not sure why I always spell it wrong!
Alright, well I am much calmer now that I know there won't be any negative effects for skipping a week and then getting right back on it.

In general the only thing to worry about when you miss a week or two on estrogens are effects similar to those felt during menopause.
For example estrogen and often even blocker medication needs to be stopped at least one week before any surgery. Or at least those that include bleeding. And then can be resumed again after like one week after surgery. Somewhere they even demand to stop up to 6 weeks before a surgery (especially before SRS). And from what I've read no femininity was lost. Of course the unpleasant things like rapid mood changes and other menopause effects apply...
EDIT: Just did a search and turns out it's actually testosterone blocker so disregard above text. Still, not much should happen during a week of missed blockers.

That's pretty expensive for dutasteride. o.O And ditto for its half life.
I use Dr. Reddy's dutas and is way cheaper. Google is your friend.

What's a Google? Is it like those things that swimmers wear?
