Ok so its been five days since my doctor added spiro to the estrogen of my hrt regimen and I think (crosses fingures) something could possibly be happening... when I press down on my chest NEXT TO (not on) the nipple and also towards my under arm this is a bit of pain like a bruise feeling... its not intolerable at all but its definitely there... There is still no pain or buds if I I press on the nipple but it is kinda bumpy laterally... Could this be growth finally and if so why is it next to the nipple and not under it??

That's where it starts. There's this weird circular disk that forms around the nipple but isn't right under the nipple where the breast tissue starts to form. The pain, at least for me, does come to the nipple every now and then as well, but it's mostly just because they're so touch sensitive. The real pain is on the disk around the nipple.

I've yet to experience any pain there, but I'm trying to be patient! Thats so odd that we look FOWARD to feeling that pain as a sign our breast growth is beginning. ;D

I was on oral premerin (sp) since 2006 and I just changed to patches last week. Breast growth on the oral form was ok, but it didn't keep working. One week on the patches and I'm now getting more growth including the painful nipple area. It's all good though, I think I can handle it!

I've experienced dull pain in all parts of my boobs as they've been growing.
The first pain, however, was the excruciating bud beneath the nipple, when they were half the size of marbles.

Also does the pain start out at a not to painful level and then get worse over time?

I started with mild pain and it never got much worse, but still had plenty of growth. And yes, the constant nipple erection thing happened early in the development cycle, too. :)

Usually, for me, it does start with mild pain graduating to more and more. Ouch! The itchy nipple/areola also often precedes pain. Then, after a few days or weeks of pain, a hard knot begins to form underneath the nipple, the size of a ping-pong ball or slightly smaller and gradually increases in size.

for me the pain comes and goes. and never more then an ache. for me the biggest issues is an itch the hits last all day and then goes for weeks on end..... abd its the worst type of itch the one that wont go unless you scratch it.....

^^^^^ This.....
I've just gotten my first taste of this in the past week, started out feeling the size of peas but now I think it's more than marble sized. It is pretty painful to the touch, like so many others have mentioned before I've gotten REALLY good at being aware of things I might bump into!
I'm definitely in the "NO TOUCHY!!!" stage right now lol. :P

Mine started as a gold ball knot under the nipple that was sensitive to pressure, and sort of spread out over time. You can feel the glandular tissue as it forms, but for me, it's always a bit tender under the nipple area. How much of it is due to spiro, I don't know, as I haven't stopped spiro.

Ah the pains of growing :) I have a really flat chest and will likely need surgery, but there's something there. In the beginning I definitely felt that pain, but it has subsided recently.

Hi Anna, we are all impatient and want things to change immediately. I am D.I.Y.ing, one of the girls that I rent a house with is doing it through the proper medical channels. She is having really slow and frustrating progress because of her piddly doses, were as I am starting to get some good breast growth and facial changes e.t.c, because I self medicate. Do not get me wrong, I want to go through the proper channels myself and I am on the waiting list in my country for an appointment at "The Charing Cross GIC", in London, but there is at least a years wait for an appointment. So at the moment I have taken it upon myself to keep an eye on my bloods through my local, and very supportive Doctor. Everything is moving along nicely, and I feel confident that I am taking all the precautions that I need to. I have turned the year wait, into my advantage, because when I do finally get my appointment, they will see that I am some way down the road already. Hopefully they will keep me on the same sort of doses that I am already on, only I wont have to pay for them any more, as we have what's called "The National Health System" over here. If I were you though I would be patient, stick with doing it the correct way, you are young and have plenty of time. Let your Doctor know what's happening. Record what's happening, and your feelings towards what's happening, on paper, day by day. When you have your next appointment with your Doctor, let him know what YOU THINK might be needed.
