Title: Running warmer than I used to (aka, this summer is hot!)

I used to get cold really easily. After my hysterectomy 5 years ago (health issues unrelated to trans) I started running warming. I still cold more easily than the norm but also had the occasional hot flash. This summer, having started T, I'm so freaking hot. Yes, it's a warming summer than normal but not that much warmer. I'm just curious. Anyone else start running warmer once you started T?

MTFs on estrogen seem to get the opposite effect,
So I could see testosterone having that effect on you.
I hope you can tough it out, I hate the heat! lol

Hi Christopher
Don't know if this is more than anecdotal since I'm M2F. Before starting E and testosterone blockers I had relatively high T. Two months into HRT I became almost permanently cold. And it continues...

This is one side effect I hate more than the ever-thinning hair. At least with the hair situation, I can get a toupee or transplants or something.
But in the warm seasons--not even hot--I start hating life. And summer is just ghastly. I run warmer than I used to, and now I sweat like a fiend--all over my body, not just my pits and my crotch. I still haven't gotten used to it. Maybe I never will. But it is what it is.

Yes, very much. I think it's partly the hormones and partly that (mostly due to hormones) I'm no longer super thin.
I like it so far. Sweating seems to cut down on my skin problems by increasing my oiliness, and feeling overheated gets me out of the house.

It's my (possibly completely misinformed) understanding that the female body prioritises keeping the torso and internal organs warm, particularly when not moving, hence why women supposedly wake up with cold hands and feet.
Of course that could be complete nonsense XD

I certainly started feeling the heat more intensely after starting T. I also can say the same for the cold - however, it could be a coincidence. I am in my mid-thirties, so perhaps its just age...?

Personally heat doesn't bother me so it's not an issue but yes I noticed not getting chilled as easily as before. Before I was always cold. I'd wear long sleeves in the summer in fact. My sister gets cold easily and so does my mom, I did before T but not now. My older brothers and father never get cold easily either. No wonder so many of my male friends like to sleep in the buff is all I can say.

Well ok. It looks like it's a common experience and another thing to get used to.
Yes, the sweat is another thing I'm adjusting too. I sweat more. It's stinkier and it's not just in my pits
haha. I came so close to doing this last night.
so my mission for my weekend (tomorrow and saturday) is to buy a good fan for my house and find out what it would take to get the air conditioner in my car fixed.

I'm cold all the time. It would be great to not wear a coat to work every day in July.

Sometimes I think I should skip teaching summer classes because I sweat so much that I worry about my students! At one school especially, I move around the room a lot and hunker down next to one student after another. I'm very self-conscious about any possible odor.
Everybody smells like something if you get close enough to them and have a keen enough nose. But I would rather smell like nothing at all. In the warmer months, I wish I could wrap myself up in a body-hugging force field from, say, May first to November first.

Yup! I used to feel cold all the time. 6 months on T now, and I feel hot all the time.

I used to be cold all winter. I wouldn't say it's worse for me in the summer though. I think everyone is different but I do think T and estrogen affect your feeling of temperature.

I have always been way too warm, but yeah...it really truly sucks. I've gotten to the point where I just let the sweat pour on some days. I know it disgusts people though.
