I got to meet one of the youths who founded COLAGE, a group for the kids of transgender persons, not long ago. They posted the following to the COLAGE Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/colage):
QuoteParticipants needed for research study about having a transgender parent:
You are invited to participate in a research study about being the child of a transgender parent. Jackie Tabor, a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology and also a child of a transgender parent, is seeking participants for her dissertation research study. This study addresses important questions that are missing in the literature on LGBT families, and can help the next generation of young adults with a transgender parent. If you agree to participate, you will partake in an interview (30 min - 1 hour 30 min) with Jaclyn Tabor at a time and place of your choosing (including over Skype or telephone). Interviews focus on what the process of a parent's gender transition looks like for children, the unique experiences facing children of transgender parents, and the resources they draw on to deal with those changes. Confidentiality is guaranteed. To be eligible to take part in this study, you must have at least one transgender parent and be 18 years of age or older.
If you are willing to be interviewed, or have any questions about the study, please email Jaclyn Tabor at jtabor@indiana.edu or call (574) 520-9021.
