Hi everyone, I thought I'd introduce myself on these forums. I'm a twenty-one year old from Florida and identified as a T-Girl.
Hmm, I First identified as a girl since pretty early on. The thought of dressing as a girl wasn't really an issuse. Since I was about ten I always followed the trends set by my sister. Usually gothic hehe. Though my outlook on fashion has individualized I just like to wear plain black pants with the occasional dark toned T-Shirt or sweater.
Started on a basic hormone regime about five months ago. Precedently I took herbals since I was 17. Growing up I had many bronchial diseases. Mainly Asthma though the result in staying alive I was put on numerous steroids. Resulting I came into a late puberty at around 16.
It wasn't until this time I could start noticing the differences happening to my body.
I was always able to express myself sort of androgynously. The "male attention" was literally driving me insane. Almost being committed quite a few times for self mutilation and thoughts of suicide. My parents sent me to a therapist. The shrink I went to couldn't know anything if it hit her on the head. After attempts to explain things to her, she quickly labeled me "clinically depressed" hopped me up on a million anti-depressants. In my youth I tried to explain to her about my gender dysphoria. She quickly kept reassuring me its normal and wouldn't hear of it going any further as starting HRT or anything. I couldn't come to tell my family because my dad would most likely of kicked me out.
Now I'm just a fun loving person, who likes going to the movies and chatting online. Oh and playing a few mmorpgs hehe. Hope you enjoyed my rant! I hope to meet many fun individuals and friends here! :)

Thank you for the welcome :) Yes I first started on the herbal mones but then met someone who guided me through purchasing "normal" or "real" hormones. I could easily say that there is a big difference between two years on herbal and five months on normal. :P
I've been searching for infomation on finding a gender therapist in the orlando florida area but no luck what so ever. :-\ It sorta stinks living in the middle of nowhere :(
I've been reading around these forums for a few hours now and have to say that there is definitely some spiffy info here.
*hugs*

Hi San,
Welcome to Susan's. There is a lot of info here as I'm sure you are discovering. Don't be afraid to jump into a thread with your own comments and take on life. So, fix yourself a cup of tea or other relaxing beverage, sit dow, take your shoes off and set a spell.
Good Journey,
Cassie
