It took me years to realize that I needed to transition, and even after that it took me a while to actually tell people.  I started by telling a friend, and I told my girlfriend later that evening.  I wanted to come out to my parents and I knew they'd be okay with it, but it was still so terrifying that I kept putting it off and I eventually resorted to just sending a message over skype to my mom and she said "Okay.  You still have to do the dishes though."  We talked a little bit later, and she didn't like the idea of me dealing with others discriminating against me because of it but she said she'd support me all the way.  Then I told my dad and he was supportive as well.  I hate that I was born with the wrong parts, but I'm really lucky to have so much support.  ^_^

Hmmm, really nice, sounds like you have a family to be thankful for.  Your parents are role models for a new age of reason, and kudos to your strength as well.  Dani.
