Hello, my name is River and I am a teenager. I have decided to become a female for six months now, feeling like I act like a female for five years, while not feeling comfortable around males for 12 years, while feeling like this is not what I look like for as long as I can remember. I am am a "pre-everything" meaning at my age, I have not taken hormone blocker, done surgery, or even contacted a gender therapist. I need help--steps if you will-- to completely change myself mainly outside but also inside. I would like to atleast know the first step(s) to accomplish the task of setting me on my course. There can be further details but that can be discussed later. As for now, I would also like to have others support and to support so we can all relate to each other on some level.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Hey River!
Welcome to Susan's :) Great to have you here - looking forward to seeing you around the forum.
This is certainly a great place for support and answers so please join in the conversations or ask your own questions. The first step would be to find a counsellor, preferably one who specialises in gender issues to discuss how you feel about your gender, what it means for you and where you can go from there.
Please check out the following links for general site info...
Cheers

A big warm welcome River! :) You have already completed the first step and that is admitting to yourself you are trans. Congrats! The second will be to find a good Therapist with gender experience to make sure transition is good for you and be officially diagnosed. It may get frustrating at times and you feel you may not be moving forward fast enough. That is what we are here for to help you get over the little bumps on your journey. Never hesitate to ask questions, vent or just seek advice. You are part of the family now so you have a great support system behind you now. :)

Hi River :)
Welcome to Susan's. I concur with Grace, step the first: find a counsellor/therapist who is well acquainted with gender-related issues. The support you seek, here it is. Be at ease here. You are among friends.
edit: ok, sorry Jessica, second step. There I am being all confused again :D Darn those senior moments!!
