Title: Going Home
Post by: allisonsteph on August 06, 2014, 11:53:07 PM
After three months of homelessness that has included several nights sleeping in a park I have had enough. I have accepted an offer from a friend and allowed her to buy me a plane ticket to New York to be with family. I leave California on Saturday August 16th. Thanks to a sister on this site I have been able to stay in a motel room last night and tonight, I should be able to cover another four or five nights leaving just three or four nights on the streets.

I am having a mixture of emotions. I am greatful for the generosity of others helping me in my time of need. I'm sad that life has beaten me and I have to leave the state that I've called home for the last 16 years. I'm terrified too. I have not seen any of my family since I've transitioned. They've seen pictures, but have never seen me as a woman.

Ten more days.

Life has NOT beaten you!! You are going to regroup and come back much stronger. I am glad you are going someplace where you can be safe. :)
