Title: Our gratitude List

Stolen from AA concepts one of the things we use to deal with the pain of withdrawl and learning to live on lifes terms is a gratitude list.
This is intended to be a thread of positive force to help us and remind us of the things that matter the most.
What are you grateful for?

Mine:
Sunrises and sunsets, a warm gentle breeze, the fragrance of flowers, incense and perfume, snuggling, a fuzzy blanket, insane horsepower, my dear trans family here, Christ, and every moment free of depression and fear, supplanted with the joy of helping others.
Seeing colors, appreciating beauty, satin and silk and nylon, the new body in the mirror, seeing through the presentation to the core, and being able to actually say "I love you" in the mirror and mean it, not forced, but the new reality of self embracing and self acceptance.
What are you grateful for, warriors of trans, people of wisdom, you of courage and love???
Nails out, hair ready, smiling from ear to ear

And most especially, my wife, and my children, who all decided to stay. :)

Friends, laughter, music, ideas, and learning. Dreams and ambition. Acceptance and expression. Authenticity and empathy. A gentle breeze, the waves breaking on the sand, the warmth of the sun upon my skin, bird song. Sunlight filtered through foliage. Birds in flight. A child's embrace. That first thought on waking. Resonance with others. Meeting and tarrying a while with fellow travellers and kindred spirits, wise elders and energetic youth. Love.

Funny I have been writing a bit about this.

Today I am grateful for the community here, and everywhere that people are seeking truth.
I am grateful for work and play, for laughter and tears, sadness and joy.
I am grateful because I feel, when for so long I denied feeling.
I am grateful for Aisla, Satinjoy, Tessa and a host of others.
I am grateful to be healthy, sober, and alive.
I am grateful for the miracle of loving and being loved.
Kind of a long way from lonely, angry, different and afraid, huh?
Thank You :D
Julie

It's in the moments, the ones that bring peace and calm.
Thank you for sharing.
One more thing to add to the list of things for me to be grateful of.
I'm grateful for the chance to have read that.

SJ
This is a very good thread. Once you start writing it is hard to stop. There are just so many things to appreciate and to celebrate .... But I guess that that is the point. When I am down or angry, it is normally only over one thing, and relative to our other blessings, it shouldn't be as impactful or as damaging as it is.
Perspective and balance.
Safe travels
