Title: Voice recorder download for computer
Post by: mainegirl9466 on August 16, 2014, 10:38:49 PM
Hi I was on here about a year ago doing research on how hard it would be to change my voice male to female. I downloaded a program that allowed me to record my voice and also told me the range of my pitch. All i really remember about the program is that being around 120 was in female range. I recently started dressing full time, attending beauty school, and taking hormones and feel like I am on the verge of passing. My voice is my only problem. I have tried to watch you tube videos and work on my voice that way but I consider myself tone deaf. So I would really like to find a program like the one I found on here before. Or a program that is similar. Thanks in advance for any responses.

The programs Praat and Gram are the most common for recording and measuring pitch.

Hi mainegirl. I wish you best of luck on your journey towards finding your new voice!

I did a tutorial a while back on how to use Praat, a free voice analysis program for mac & pc. I have also just now stickied that topic to make it easier to find (it now appears near the top of the page within the Voice Therapy and Surgery section of this site).

Here is the direct link to the tutorial thread on how to get started:

I don't know if this is the program you used, but perhaps this will be of help to you!
