So I was booked to perform my Michael Jackson impersonation at the Lansing Mall in my hometown for my grandmas cancer survivor pre show. Know as I have said many times before none of my moms side of the family accepts me so I told them not to announce my birth name and just say we have a MJ impersonator, so I told some of my friends to come down to watch me and even though they didn't announce it when they announced the MJ impersonator my dumb grandma still decided to do it for the finale and my friends heard my whole name which seriously pissed me the hell off. So after I performed I changed out of my clothes because my home boys wanted to chill at the mall and despite all that they still treated me as how I've been treated calling me Brandon, dude, him,he and his and let me tell just tell ya we had a ball in the mall everyone was laughing at us cuz we were acting crazy in a good way.. And the only thing they asked was if my dad calls me Brandon or my birth name and my dad actually agreed to calling me what I prefer and he believes its more wiser considering I got my haircut and even though I hate the word pass 100%. My dad also said that he wants to meet my girlfriend when I get one and he's gonna be happy when I settle down and get a wife and that he's gonna be at my wedding. I just wished my mom said was like this. Anyways here's the video of me performing Michael Jackson's Dangerous

In any case, it's tough when you have people close to you not trying to understand you or even accommodate you by using your preferred name while everyone else is adjusting well enough with male pronouns and name. Even so, you have to play with the cards you were given and things will eventually get better. What your mom's side of the family feel now may not be forever and they might come around like your father has.

It sucks that your grandma gave your birth name and that a part of your family doesn't support you for who you are. I am glad your friends were fine with it though. They know you for who you are and accept you and that's exactly what you deserve.

Dude, you did my idol like a boss. Its great having people who support you and accepts you for you. I wouldn't be making it now if it weren't for the support of my brothers and dad :)

Haha that's your idol to huh? Michael is inspiration to me I looked up to him. But it's definately great to have supportive people in your life it makes me remember why I shouldn't give up.
