Title: Hi all
Post by: CaseyD on August 17, 2014, 09:25:36 PM
Hi all. I found this place through a quick search and have been looking at the forums for a few days. I'm 27 mtf, yet just in the very beginning. At this point, I know that I have a long road ahead of me, and am wishing I knew how I feel now long ago. I'm looking for a network that this seems to be- a place to celebrate my triumphs as well as the triumphs of others and to be there to help others when they stumble- as I know I will, and will need someone to point me in the right direction from time to time.

I'm rediscovering what an-ex of mine introduced me to years ago. I fought my inner feelings and while I am a man's man to the world, I am a bit of a girly girl on the inside. With being in the navy, it makes life more complicated as I'm required to be what I don't feel I am. At this point, I'm looking at options, experiences, and what is out there to make up my mind on several things. From just lurking, I have learned a bit in the past couple days and am looking forward to learning more, and hopefully one day sharing and helping others in my time here.

Welcome CaseyD to the family,

I hope you can find some more information that you need to help you come to some form of understanding.

It truly is not a easy thing and at some point it would be a good idea to find a gender therapist.

I see you are serving your country and i wish to say thank you.

Yes it is a little more complicated being in the arm forces but i has seen they might be making it easier for ones with GD.

Welcome to Susans.  You have certainly found the right place to ask questions, find support and information, as well as sharing experiences and perspectives.  Having served in the Navy I can understand how you need to 'act' to avoid discovery but a good gender therapist will help you work through your issues and options.  The journey from understanding and accepting yourself through learning to express yourself can be quite lengthy.  But the journey is perhaps more important than the time taken or indeed the destination.

Safe travels

Aisla
