Title: Bugs me badly

It bothers me alot when I read transgender people having gender identity disorder. I dont consider myself a disorder. I dont get where someone could call me a disorder. Just because my brain is more girl than boy even if I was born in a boy body doesnt make me a disorder. A disorder is something is wrong with you. Im not messed up. I just think like a girl way more than a boy. I dont have an illness, a disorder and all I am is unique.

My bugbear is 'born as a boy'. If I was born as a boy, I wouldn't be in this mess. :)
I like the way Gender Dysphoria (the distress caused by being transgender) is the disorder now, not being transgender itself. That is how it should be. Mind you I would call it 'gender misalignment torture' myself. ;)

I am not sure i have a right to talk as i have not been able to see a doc about this due to medicaid issues. Despite that, i think the name gid meant more that you sex characteristics are the disorder. Like mtf and ftm, and it grows harder to deny being one, are simply super-intersexed, so much so that the mind and body are very opposite. I may have just annoyed people, sorry. I guess i mean that it just means the birth defect that gave you the wrong parts. But then again, with my medical issues, i am used to them so thinking of it that way is natural to me.

Would you prefer the term "illness" ? That's what ->-bleeped-<- was classed as, a mental illness. I certainly am not ill, nor sick, diseased or afflicted. I would much rather be classed as disorderly :P

The thing is... there's either something wrong or not.
If there's nothing wrong, nothing needs to be changed.
If there IS something wrong, there's a disarrangement (between your body or bodily expression on the one hand and your mind on the other hand). Disorder means disarrangement or at least it can mean that.
That said... words aren't that accurate ever.
