Wow. 3 days on Spiro and I've peed more than I usually do in a week! And I'm only on the minimum starting dose. I'm almost scared to taper up. :P
Will it level out at all?

It takes a few weeks to level out. The peeing increases a little more when the dosage is upped. By the 3rd month on Spiro it is much less noticeable. It's nearly normal now, but I think my bladder has shrunk some now.

Thanks for the info! I'll definitely be getting an orchi next year, so it won't be a concern forever. I just hope that it becomes tolerable.

Ehhh I'm at 7 months, I don't really think it's leveled out so much as I just got used to it... save for getting up in the middle of the night to pee, that's the worst x_x

My doc recommended taking Spiro in the morning to avoid constant trips to the loo at night time. It's annoying but it's better than fluid retention which is a common side effect of estrogen. First time I tried this I was on Androcur instead and puffed up like a water balloon. Much happier with Spiro.

My doctor recommended the same thing. I take it as soon as I wake up.
So if estrogen causes fluid retention, do they cancel each other out at all? Or does the Spiro win out?

I started spironolcatone on Wednesday night. To be honest, I haven't seen much of an increase in peeing, and this has me a little concerned because it is such a common side effect. I know the spiro is working for me as a blood pressure medication because I've been tapering off my old blood pressure med and I've been taking my blood pressure several times a day. (Actually, spiro seems to work better than the stuff I was on, so getting on spiro has been a two-fer for me.)
The only thing I can think of is that I've been cutting out the sweets because my endocrinologist says that I am prediabetic (by the way, I'm 35 and in the normal weight range, so being hypertensive and prediabetic makes no sense whatsoever). Maybe whatever water weight I had before starting spiro is already gone.
