Lots of people including my parents have said they would believe I was trans if I did more girl things but I do some girl things.  My behavior and gender expression is more of a mix between male and female really and the clothes I wear are mostly female.  I like to drink and cuss and drive fast which are some of the things my parents have pointed out are deal breakers for them.  Am I the only trans woman who feels this way and is told things like this or can anybody else relate to me?

Forget trans. You're not the only woman. My sweety has a lead foot. One best friend drinks and cusses. Another does all three.

My mother once called my brother a son of a b... in the middle of the street.

Quickly followed with, "but, of course, I didn't mean that."

Your preferred activities have nothing to do with your gender identity. Your parents are mistaken and misinformed. I know a transwoman who drives a huge truck and likes to lay drywall. It has nothing to do with her gender identity.

BTW, why does it matter whether your parents believe you are trans or not? You're the only one who knows who you are, right?

Yeah, there are plenty of cis women out there who do all those things. I bet your parents don't consider them men.

Most likely it is a way for your parents to try and prove you wrong, they may feel bad because they never realized who you really were and they were not able to help all of these years.

My parents used to say that it was impossible for me to "feel like"/be a girl because I always acted like a really macho guy, I told them it was just an act. Coming from an homophobic country I had to put in that act/mask and show what other people wanted to see, otherwise my life would have been totally different.

The easier way for most people is to make other people feel bad so they do not have to realize they could have made a mistake or that they could have been wrong.

Just do what you feel you want to do, and more important, always be you!!!! Do not let other people changed that!

People closest to us tend to believe what they want to believe. My spouse, my sons, even my brothers had some incredulity to my announcement that I was trans. But my sister didn't. She said she remembered things. My closest cousin simply said, "Well that explains a lot!" One of my closest female friends of the last 17 years said, "Now you make sense!"

Just go with what you feel. Don't live your life for others.

Eliminate the things that separate us.

One of my coworkers (she is small framed (not short) and could in no way be mistaken for a guy) did all of that... in one night... within one hour. And she is awesome.  :D

That's just how some people act — I know I probably cuss more than most people I know (then again, another coworker of mine swears she cusses more than me).  I'm actually surprised that drinking and swearing are (⅔) deal breakers for them, considering that it's kind of... well the norm (for a good portion of the female populace, anyway). :-\ (the driving — anyone can have a lead foot or road rage, that's not exclusively masculine).

I would like to be able to wear female clothes and pass as female.
