Title: NAME!!!
Post by: captainbathtub on September 01, 2014, 07:18:39 PM
So, I'd like to settle on a name by the end of the year. My family is from Southeast Asia and as a result my siblings and I have very unique sounding names (in the US, at least). I'd like to choose a name that sticks with this pattern and that allows me to keep my initials (AT). Right now I am seriously considering the name Armin, so that my full name would be Armin Rafael Thomas. I've gotten a lot of mixed responses to the name....some say they think of Arm and Hammer :/ so I'd like to hear your opinions on it. Thanks!

I like Armin! Unique but not unheard of and it allows you to keep your initials. Sounds like it's everything you're looking for :) I wouldn't get to the Arm and Hammer thing in a million years, I definitely don't think most people will go there. If you're interested in alternatives, Alden, Angelo, or Ansel are also pretty uncommon A names.

I like Armin as well! I have to say though it's not an uncommon name where I live, and my native language isn't English. So it's hard to say for me which associations someone whose native (or everyday) tongue is English would have.

Armin makes me think of my favorite character from an anime, I think it's an awesome name too! Go for it if YOU like it.
