Title: I Requested The Letter Today
Post by: Julie Marie on August 04, 2007, 03:46:45 PM
It's been over a year since I've seen my therapist so I knew today's session would be filling out forms and catching up on what's been happening.  But even as I was filling out forms I told her I am ready and that's why I am here.  There is no doubt.

I brought her up to date with my life.  She asked a few questions.  Soon the session was over.  She asked what I wanted to do.  I told her set up another appointment and start the letter writing process.  Then I asked her if she saw any problem.  She told me absolutely not.

I left there just bursting with happiness!  If all goes as planned I should be heading for Montreal around June of 2008.

By then it will have been a 57 year wait.  But who cares!  What's important is the wait is over!

How long will it be before this monster grin leaves my face?

Julie

That's a long wait Julie.  I don't know how you managed. I hope that "Julie" has a full, rich, rewarding, and a long life!

Good for you!

Oh, I think you'll get over it, Julie.  Somewhat.

As you pass the other milestones, second letter, deposit & date, payment in full, plane ticket bought or travel arrangements made, you'll shake your head that you made it this far.

I bet you'll have all that stuff done 'WAY ahead of the actual date, and be left with the date creeping up on you all too slowly  ;)

The monster grin will go away.

But the 'Mona Lisa' smile won't  :D

Julie, I'm so happy for you. I know that you are sitting on pins and needles now. Time will go by so fast and you need to put things in order. Get it done early as there are always last minute things that pop up. I remember when I got my letter from my therapist. I had asked the same question, are there any problems. She told me no. You are just a normal woman. Then said she would send me my letter in the mail in about a week. I was sailing then. My psychologist told me that I was nomal and not just normal but a normal woman. So I know how you are feeling now. You are going to have a lot of highs from now on. Have fun.

Dear Julie,

That is such awesome news!  I could hear the excitement in your voice last night as your new life is now unfolding.  I do hope the grin never leaves your face.  You wear it well, hon.

Julie, wouldn't it be weird if we ended up having surgery at the same time?

So I take it you are going to Brassard too?  He takes four girls a week so it's possible.  And yes,it would be cool!.

Congrats Julie!

I remember preparing like you are now, so many emotions. Anxious, Excitement, Fear, and counting the seconds. And when it's complete, total amazement. I have a couple of friends here at home who went to Brassard, Their quite happy with their results. I wish you all the best.

I called the "second opinion" therapist yesterday to set up an appointment to see her.  She's pretty booked for September so I had to settle for October 15th to see her.  That might make the June hopeful date a bit tight if Brassard is still an eight month wait time but at least things are falling into place.

Now all I have to do is remain sane between now and the surgery date.  I can't believe how powerfully this has affected me!

Thanks everyone for the support.  If you see me bouncing off walls please tie me down so I don't hurt myself too badly.

Julie
