First what's good brands of make up and certain stuff to use to be semi passable..
Second I don't know what to do I work a regular job around 20k a year I feel it will be it possible to beable to do what I want having a 6yr old daughter I haven't even because HRT because it's too expensive because insurance doesn't cover any ideas?

You may find insurance covers more than you thin , especially if you have sympathetic doctors.

As to make-up type stuff, start with caring for your skin. Avoid direct sun and use moisturizers.

As to expense for uncovered things, save by donating to a savings account earmarked for transistion related costs. Plan a set amount like $50 per paycheck and deposit it before buying other things. If you need to explain it, call it an emergency fund as you should try to save up 2 months worth of living expenses in case of emergency anyway.

While some brands of makeup are definitely better than others,  I would say that the brand has little to do with how you pass but more of being knowedgable in applying the makeup. Less is more in my eyes. You don't need to buy high end brands. Although if you are looking to cover beard shadow you will probably have to spend some money.

i LOVELOVELOVE makeup, and my fave brand by far is Physican's Formula. But it runs around $13 per product, whether it be nude glow powder, blush, concealer or shadow. But ya could buy the shimmer strips, it quadruples as an eyeliner, shadow, blush and bronzer. it's good at covering shadow and can work as a foundation if you use it right. But it's a hard brand to apply and requires contouring skills. For foundation, I'd just get a $10 bottle of Mayblelline Mousse. It's awesome. For eyeshadows, i'd just get N.Y.C. shadows and lipsticks and eyeliner.

Well, don't overdo it. Too little is better than too much when starting out with makeup. For most TG folks, beard cover is the most important thing to work on initially. A search of this site (and elsewhere) will bring up plenty on that subject. Makeup colors work very differently on different people's skin so it would help to have the advice of an expert. Big department store cosmetics counters usually have a helpful person or two who can aim you in the right direction on that.

depends on what you want, I can spend $150AUD on a great foundation and wear it when I'm going out at night, yet spend $9AUD on a good BB cream and wear it every day.
