Title: Hello everyone
Post by: Njdetashley on September 05, 2014, 01:17:31 PM
Hi all,

I recently went to a trans support meeting and someone told me to join this community. Hopefully I'll get a lot of this and be able to give even more.

I'm Ash, I'm 26 years old and enjoying life. Ive been on hrt for 1.5 months so far and I'm already seeing huge differences (huge for me at least). I'm very impressed so far and I'm optimistic for the future. Here's a pic -> http://imgur.com/a/gLdEJ (http://imgur.com/a/gLdEJ). Sorry no makeup (I'm waiting a long time for makeup so I can blow myself away when I look in the mirror lol)

I hope to make some friends here. I feel alone in my transition. My friends and family don't really understand what i'm going through and I don't expect them too either. For all the love and support they give me, my issues are often too specific to talk about with them. I would like advice from those who have been through it, and I wish to get to know some people who are around my stage of transition. Transitioning can get lonely; I could really use someone in my life who is going through the same issues as I am.

Thanks for reading,
Ash

P.s: I made a post asking a question about passing if anyone wants to answer?

I feel alone in my transition.
You are not alone anymore sweetie! You are now part of a family that will be there every step of the way. Laugh, cry, rant, vent or do whatever you need to and you will find a shoulder here anytime! You will find so much first hand information and experience it is sometimes overwhelming. All of the information you get here is from real people giving their experiences as to how different meds and procedures either work or don't with helpful tips and suggestions to maximize your transition. No question is too silly and ask however many times you need to. Now, relax dig in and meet the rest of the family. People may be new to this site, but you are one of us the very first post.  :)

Welcome Njdetashley to Susan's family,

Glad to see you are already on your path.

We all know the effects it has on family and friends. Its best to give them information and let them digest it the best they can. I have found no one can truly know how we feel being there is no reference to give them.

We are given this for use to deal with in life.

Just please one day at a time and keep up dated with our therapist and go to your support group.

Mentors are needed to help you get past any times the darkness creeps in.

Hugs and as long as you are in our family you will never be alone.
Safe passage on your path, popcorn?
