Title: HRT Help?

Hi girls! I'm very new to Susan's- loving it so far. I'm currently seeking to get on HRT, and this woman that I contacted gave me a list of clinics and doctors in my area that provide informed-consent hormones for trans people. My question is this-- should I go to a clinic, or a doctor? The doctor would be covered by my insurance I believe- but what would be the difference between me going to a clinic and a doctor?

No real difference as long as they are both informed consent. Go to the one that is covered by insurance. Make sure your insurance specifically covers trans care though as most still do not. :)

Welcome to Susan's.
If the insurance issue were not present and there were LGBT clinics I would check out if they have other services. Where I go they do laser, have a food and clothing bank, support trans* kids, have group, provide the Philly Trans Health Conference and the patients and staff are all queer and they have trans* staff. Oh, they have a legal department, therapy, and intake.

Wow, that's amazing! Definitely worth looking into- just a matter of seeing what my insurance covers, how much out-of-pocket, etc. Thank you so much! :)
