Title: Discrimination for being non binary?
Post by: makipu on September 07, 2014, 01:50:17 PM
I really would like to know if there are people out there who have already changed their gender markers but are still non-binary?  For example, besides the non-binary way you behave do you also put on an appearance any way you like?

For example, if nonbinary FTM, do you buy clothing from the 'women' section (I don't even mean like dresses or anything just something with nice vibrant colors that they unfortunately don't usuallyhave in the 'men' section) or don't have a (typical) very short hair?

Most importantly, I am interested in knowing if you faced any discrimination for being this way.

Thanks

As a social genderqueer with a presentation close to birth gender, only at work by those who have read me as mtf.  Otherwise I get support.

Blessings... sj

I've completely transitioned and am living 100% as a female. My driver's license says F and uses my female name, as does every other piece of ID.

I haven't faced any discrimination other than the usual BS any trans person does when they transition. But then, no one really knows I'm non-binary other than my closest friends and my therapist. To everyone one else, I'm just another trans woman. I'm OK with that.

You forgot to add that you are a courageous one Suzi.  I truly admire your strength.
