Title: Muscle Fatigue / Soreness. Normal?
Post by: Nevara on September 12, 2014, 05:16:10 PM
So one of the first things I've noticed since starting HRT (besides the bathroom trips >:() is that my muscles have been staying sore a lot longer than normal.

Most of my workouts are running and cardio and usually I can feel the muscle fatigue and soreness for a couple of hours to maybe a day at most if I really push myself. I've been only been on HRT for about a week now but I've noticed since pretty much day 3 that I'm still sore a full day after my usual workout routine. As far as pushing myself I haven't really felt like I've been going harder during the workout.

I know muscle reduction and everything isn't supposed to start until at least a few months in, so I'm wondering if this is normal? Anyone else experience this?

I had that for a short while and mine was just proper hydration with Spiro. I know how much I need to drink now and it is not a problem anymore.  :)

Might be my problem. Still not used to peeing this much.

Tryin to hydrate as much as I can but I probably need to up my intake even more.

I am serious when I say I drink a gallon or so a day. I am constantly sipping water all the time. Darn Spiro!! I can't wait for SRS. :)
My soreness hit mostly in the legs and shoulders. Basically places with the most muscle.

I just started on Tuesday myself, and I've noticed the same thing. In my case, I wondered if it was due to the Dutasteride I started which is supposed to reduce DHT levels very quickly.

I never considered I could just be dehydrated!

On Spiro, it's important to eat as salty as you want, moderate potassium intake, diuretics and drink when thirsty, plain water. Symptoms may be due to electrolyte imbalance. If this persists, maybe call and go see doctor. ;)

Monitor your water intake. 12 - 8 ounce glasses a day or more.

I am always sore when I am very active. I did my laundry, cut 1/3 of a acre of grass on a hill, cleaned, vacuumed, wet mopped and food shopped today. I am sore right now.  During the week at 0630 I climb up 11 flights of stairs and my calves are always sore.  I am losing muscle and can not do what I use to do. I just joined a gym and want to concentrate on cardio work to lose weight; I expect soreness.

I get the same thing. I'm in agreement with everyone here that it's the Spiro. I'm also on dustasteride. I've had one bout with dehydration since starting the spiro so make sure to drink a lot of water.

Progesterone is also a diuretic, similar to Spiro but weaker apparently so can add to this. Just letting you know cause I know you just started it. ;)

Thank you! I had forgotten that. I'm already at a risk for dehydration being post weight-loss surgery and now I'm on two diuretics. I really need to increase my water intake.
