Title: I saw Against Me! last night

My friend and I headed through the gate. An employee at the venue decided to make a big deal about how I was "a guy." It was humiliating.
"I can see your Adam's apple!"
Pisshead. So we went in. The band was starting, and we made our way to the front. My friend knows the band, and Laura smiled at her a few times. The sound was awful, but the band was awesome. I was upset over what happened minutes before, but I still enjoyed the show. After their set was done, we made our way to the side, hoping to bump into Laura. That's when I saw the giant crowd behind us. I didn't realize until then how big the show was.
We waited... well, not all night, but a good while. We sat through Jimmy Eat World. My friend's sister calls them Jimmy Eat Ass, but anallingus is far more pleasant than that band. Laura never came out to mingle, but I did get to meet James, the other guitar player. Somehow, he knew the tiny little dot of a town in New Jersey where I come from. How the hell does somebody from Florida know that? Hell, how does somebody from New Jersey know that?!
I'm also in the process of filing a complaint about the employee who harassed me. Whee.

That's awesome that you saw them! Too bad you didn't get to meet Laura, though.
And that employee really deserves to be yelled at! I swear, people like that really need a good talking to.. I hope his boss fires him, or something. That's really something that shouldn't go unpunished.

I love Against Me. They are the only band I've seen live three times.
I find it very odd that Jimmy Eat World would be playing at the same show... personally, I would totally go for that. ;D

I am posting in this thread entirely to defend Jimmy Eat World :P Their song 'The Middle' is one of the best, pick-me up, I need to feel better about myself quickly songs.
It is bubble gum punk pop from more than 10 years ago, and I don't have a clue what they sound like now, but this song got me through some bad moments.
Now, On topic -
- sorry for the jerk at the door that tinged your evening and made it less than a positive experience. It is rough trying to separate things out when you had a good time and yet there was still something that marred it a little.
