Hi everybody!
I have been feeling a lot of dysphoria recently, and tonight especially. I just want to be alone when I am like this and I feel really sad. I am not sure what I can do manage it. I am troubled with my gender identity and have for a while been seriously thinking about transition, but now I have moved abroad (1 year foreign exchange) and know I cannot do anything, therapists and doctors are not english speaking of course. I am not homesick, and have been more open about myself to others here than I have ever been at home so I am out of ideas with how to cope.
I need some advice if anyone can.
Sara x

Make a list of the things you love to do. For me, it would be reading, taking walks, listening to music, talking to my friends. For you it will be different, but try to find those things that make you feel true to yourself.
Then do those things every chance you have.
Also, look for ways you can bring joy to other people.
Hugs, Sara. It's a difficult time.

There are many forms of transition and a lot of things associated with transition. You said you are troubled with your gender. This is a good time to fine a home town gender therapist an Skype some sessions.
Personally, I am exercising again and feel better. Perhaps give exercise a try.

Yes, Skyping a therapist might be a way around the one year gap. I know it can be hard to take your mind off it but what Suzi suggests is the best way to distract yourself from it. Isolation can exacerbate the situation as spending time by yourself gives you too much time to dwell on it, yet engaging with people can be triggering - all the same, being alone is potentially worse so please try to socialise a little bit where you feel safe.
