Title: Progynova =/= Meriestra?
Post by: bluebirdx88 on September 17, 2014, 05:06:44 PM
Hello all,

So today I went to my GP to get new prescriptions (I need a little paper each time I buy the pills...) In any case.. He told me that Progynova had been taken off the government subvention program for meds, alas he had to prescribe something similar and he had to Google it. What he ended up prescribing me is Meriestra which apparently is supposed to be the same and a lot cheaper.

However he did say he had no idea about these kind of drugs and he found the 'similarities' in Google with me present, alas I'd like to ask here to be sure. I can't see my endo for quite a while, and I think my GP is right, but I'd like to be reassured of this if any of you peeps know?

Thankies!!!

Progynova and meriestra are pretty much the same, to the point that when they ran out of meriestra the only thing that the pharmacy would sell me was progynova since the composition was identical.

I used progynova for the first eight months, and then switched to Meriestra since it was prescribed. No difference, really. Although I ended moving to injections.

Thank you! This clarifies a lot. :) It's so much cheaper too! This is good news indeed :D
