Title: Dr Brassard question.
Post by: kariann330 on September 18, 2014, 09:37:01 PM
So I know that some doctors require you to have X number of treatments done down south before surgery and others want none done at all because of their preferences. Does Dr. Brassard require any or a full clearing? If he does in what areas because I have heard of some only wanting preanal area done, some wanting scrotum done, some wanting both areas done and some even wanting the base of the shaft cleared.
I know that any chances of me having surgery are a while off, but it would be nice to get a jump on it if needed, if I don't just go 100% permanently bare down there.

They ask none be done.

He feels its better to let them get what they need to do at the time of surgery.

Brassard does hair removal during surgery. If you want to remove it (hair) before surgery you'll need to wait some months to ensure no regrowth (up to a year).

I am having surgery with him soon and he advised me NOT to do any laser/electrolysis down there. He wants you to shave the night before surgery.

My advice is to not do it until after your GRS. He will kill most of the hair follicles, so the ones the grow back you can laser off. It will be cheaper. See how much goes away and what ever is left take it off.

I went to brassard and also did genital electro before my surgery. I didn't clear everything, just wanted everything shaped a certain way. It ended up delaying my surgery a little over a year. One thing I will say about electrolysis is that once its done the pores close up so it made the skin down there very soft and very smooth.

If you want to do this like I did, then do it before. Electrolysis while post op is very painful and uncomfortable from what I was told. My genital electro also included keeping the bikini line done as well.
