Well this is a little nerve wrecking to be honest-- To pretty much openly declare that I am a transwoman to strangers. But alas, it would be best to just introduce myself before I derail my own thread before it begins.
Let me first say hello to all the beautiful people on this forum! I have not been much of a lurker, but I have been led here many a time by googling transgender related questions. My psychologist, one lovely Dr. Morse, recommended that I should find an online community to join as I have been rather introverted these past few years and my circle of friends that I feel open with has diminished. I have friends mind you, but they are more of the "friends" kind of friends if you know what I mean. Definitely not the kind of people I am comfortable discussing this with. Parents included.
The name I have chosen to go by is Andreja. J is a Y sound btw. Apparently my goal in life is to confuse people, as you can see. Silvija will be middle name and my last will be held for personal reasons as my last name won't be changed. I will be 21 in November. I dropped out of college so I can work full-time to afford transitioning. I enjoy running, hiking, reading, watching x-files with no lights on, and recently been really into nail care.
I have been to a few laser hair treatments (bought a 12 session package, which is probably overkill as I have the face of a pubescent boy) and have been seeing a psychologist for over a month. My first appointment with an endocrinologist is on the 29th this month!~ I only really came to terms with truly being transgender a few years ago (3) and only recently have had the financial means to pursue it. I have felt that I wasn't a boy since childhood, but due to an abusive step-father, I really tried to "be a man" through my teen years. Anywho--- Leaving that baggage behind, I am here to hopefully meet and talk with some other women that are are in process of transitioning or who have transitioned.
Love,
Andreja

Welcome Andreja to Susan's family.
Seems you have already set your transition on a good starting footing.
I wish you the best in moving forward in your lives path.
We all will have wisdom along with questions. Feel free to answer or ask in the post topics.

Thank you for you welcomes! I look forward to joining in on the conversations. I apologize in advance for my tendency to be erratic and a rambler. <3

It's nice to meet both of you as well! Thank you for your welcomes!
@Mark3: I'm glad you like the name! Not sure of which you mean though or both. Anyway, I figured I'd embrace my Croatian roots (lol only 25%) and pick a unique name that isn't too unique.
@mrs izzy: I am glad to hear that I have been doing everything right so far! Just a little lonely doing it all myself. Glad to be here though!

Dear Andreja
Welcome| :D It's fun here, with lots of intelligent debate.
Are you planning to return to college at some time - please please tell me you are?! I think you're doing a lot of good things as part of your transition, though my personal feeling is that these are perfectly compatible with continuing your education.
After all, we are all hoping that we'll see a transgender president in the White House one of these days...
What were you studying?
Hugs
Julia
(Yes, I'm a nut for education; it opens masses of doors, not to mention minds, and means that you can afford really cute shoes ;D)

Hey there Julia! Thank you for your welcoming message as well. I have talked with my therapist about this very issue and yes, someday I would I like to return to school. I was in the Criminal Justice program at a community college in upstate New York but, due to severe depression at the time, dropped out in my third semester. Well I was kicked out for bad grades and attendance as I didn't have the sense to drop out. I really can't afford schooling at this time since I recently came out of my grace period and have no financial support from my parents, nor do I have a partner at this current time. I really am, at this time, just scraping by and putting my savings into transitioning.

Hi Andreja it's nice to meet you! I love the name, too. Remember, there are no strangers, just friends you haven't met yet! See you around the site!
Hugs, Devlyn
