Title: Why do you dress up as a woman?

I enjoy being a man in every day life, but in order to be intimate, or sexually aroused, I need to dress as a woman, and picture myself as a woman with a woman. I don't want to be a woman any other time, just for these reasons. Do any of you feel this way?
I'm not interested in the naked body at all either. When my wife and I are intimate, I prefer her to keep her dress on (the one I request her to wear). I've told her about myself, but she is repulsed by it, so I just keep it secret. I'm larger now, so I rarely dress any more, but I found myself getting addicted to lesbian kissing web sites, and now am trying to stay away from those because they were consuming me. I have so many questions, and have been posting all over these forums in hopes I can find some men who can relate to what I'm saying. I think I'm adhearing to the guidlines of the group with my posts, if I'm not, I'm truly sorry!

I dress as a woman because I enjoy it. Ever since I tried on my wife's skirt a couple of years ago, I discovered a side of me that was ready to come out. I feel so complete, liberated, and content.

Because it'd be a shame to let all my beautiful clothes hang in the closet unused ;D
Seriously though, I don't dress up much any more, it's more about accepting who I am inside, regardless of clothing.

Because I want to.
Because it feels "right".
I like they way they feel. I like the way they make me look. I like the way they show off my shaved legs and painted nails in a way that just doesn't work with regular men's clothes.
Since my normal everyday attire (outside of the office) is a scoop-neck T-shirt, jeans shorts and sandals, (It's summer in Texas, give me a break), does that really constitute "dressing up"? Dresses, hose and heels are generally reserved for special occasions, although I am thinking I need to start wearing them more.

Dana,
You may not be so different. Each of us is just a little different. Many crossdressers experience some degree of sexual stimulation from dressing. And then again, many do not. We dress for various reasons, some of which may be reasons that we ourselves are not aware of.
I dress as a woman because it is fun. In the immortal words of Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze) in To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar, "I have too much fashion sense for one sex."

My wife told me I don't have to hide it but we never made love with me being dressed like a woman. On the other hand .... I am perhaps not supposed to tell this here ... but I can't get excited if I didn't first stimulate her like a lesbian would .... and if she would do the same to me it would block me completely.

im still trying to understand that question myself , innocently , i tried on some lingerei when i was about 15, and found i loved the feeling , i dont feel so guilty about now as i am more mature to deal with this side of my persona and accept that lingerei does turn me on aswell as other items i have thought about wearing ,finding a understanding partner is not so easy as i have found as i see myself as a loving person who has a lot to offer to the right woman, so for now ,im quite ok with my situation and hopefully all will turn out well

I dress as a woman because I feel more like a woman than a man.
I relate better to women.
I would rather wear women's clothes than men;s because they are more exciting and prettier.
A dress is more comfortable than a pair of boring pants.

I started just for fun (@ 9-10), maybe I don't thinking at all what was that I'm doing, but I need it.
Then I felt sexual aroused for quiet sometime.
But from my early 20's I realise that is not enough for me.
I was different from the others of my gender, (OHHH MY!!) I WAS MORE FEMALE THAN MALE (I think 80% at most!!!) and from then, that goes more and more to fem side. I wake up one day and my male was probably gone.
It was a very strange and interesting inner metamorphosis!!! A butterfly was born!!!
So, there are many different kinds of categories some are Cd's (with various motives on that) some TS, Transgenders.
Dont try to categorize u r self. It is a minus detail.
Just....Enjoy that you are.

It was something that I had done since I was in my early teens. I was dressing up solely for the sexual arousal I got from the feminine image of myself. I started experimenting with different looks and styles I was able to pilfer from my Mom's and older sisters' wardrobe, and I started elevating crossdressing to an art form. I had created a complete inner satisfying sexual identity in my head, but I was and am still unable to express to any of my friends and family.
As I get older the visceral arousal I get from crossdressing has diminshed, and it is just something I do to express myself sexually and artistically.

When I am intimate with my wife I can not get excited unless I make love to her the way lesbians would do. It simply doesn't go otherwise. Why ? I don't know. One girlfriend I had once asked me "Do you really enjoy that ? " Because it looks like I don't get anything while she does but that is not so for me. And when she would return the 'favour' it blocks me immediatly.
Last time I put off her sleeping dress and I put it on myself and it excited me in a way I didn't experience before.
I don't know why i do what I do. My wife told me she doesn't feel attracted to women, that means also if I would be a woman. On the other hand she also told me several times already she likes ->-bleeped-<-s.

I dated a lady who asked me to wear panties once, it was just a kinky thing for her, but it felt good to me.
Then when I told a later lady about it, she got quite interested, and asked me to do it for her. Each time we were together my dressing escalated. She was enjoying it very much and so was I. We are still together, and I enjoy dressing with her.

I have heard this one before. After much discussion and truth digging, what that means is (at least in my case) that she likes the idea, and has no issues with it, but it doesn't turn her on.
My advise,
You have 2 options.
a.) Dress up and get Dominant with her, ie be the macho male but still dressed. (this shows that you can still be the "guy" even in a corset)
b.) Just be a the masculine guy frequently enough for her not to get bothered by it. Believe me, if you let it stagnate, she will.
In either case, do what you would do as far as pleasing her is concerned. Then it solidifies in her mind that you really do enjoy that.
Sometimes telling a woman the sky is blue isnt enough for them. Especially when your wearing a dress, its hard to accept things for what they are when they know otherwise.

You look cool going out for the first time. Where / how did you get the tits ?
I really would like to have those boots I saw recently.
I have some strategy with my wife. She doesn't unlike it but she told me I shouldn't go too far in being eccentric. My strategy is too please her more when I'm dressed. Like giving her a really long massage or so. Then she will think, "When he's dressed I get something extra also."
About being the dominant male guy. I don't want to get anybody angry but women really do have a difficult state of mind. Men are much more easy. Yesterday I went to my mother before going home after work. And my mother made some chicken pieces. So I ate there ... a bit ... but I lost my appetite because of it. Then when I came home, I didn't eat anymore but she had done the work already. ............. You have no idea ....... it was rice with something out of a box ( microwave stuff ), it was work but not that much. But I had to hear it all evening. I said I wasn't going to eat by force or so if I'm not hungry anymore. It's like I make fresh orange juice and then she doesn't want to drink it and I start making a fight like "You don't appreciate me .... "
My boss, there she is again, once told me "Do I have to do bravo or so each time you do something ?" She also told me she is not of the "sugary"-kind. And she's not, it's true. She's a beast looking like an angel but make no mistake, ... she truly is an ANIMAL.
... but I'm a pussy I'm afraid, I really am a pussy. A softy, sensitive. You know I threw up looking at Michael Moore's Sicko movie. In the beginning of the movie he showed a guy who cut of his fingers. Nothing was really seen but it made me sick. I went out of the movie theater and as soon as I got out everything came out. I had the same with "The last samurai" when they all get killed by automatic machine guns.

IF you mean "easy" running away from confrontation, or
acting in a passive aggressive way; I can't say I agree men are
easier to deal with.
Men often hide how they really feel about something
so on the outside, all seems well, until the ->-bleeped-<- hits the fan.
Women if put in difficult situaitions will be neurotic every day about it,
men will hold it in episodically act crazy.

Maybe people in general are difficult. Thinking about myself, it is true. I am in peace for a very long time and then comes the big bang. Sometimes I'm ready to break the windows. Time to get some physical activity ...
Once every year or so there is an explosion. And when this happens it is not nice at all. What is better ? ONE big bang every year or a smaller mess every week ?
When looking at the members of this forum once somebody did a lot of posts you see a waveform in the statistics area. Big bangs only are there for beginners.
Why am I such a mess ????

The inner excitement is there, though not for arousal. I think it is fun to be dressed up a like a woman and express yourself. But I will need to really dig deeper to understand the true motivations.

I don't know what it was for me, but like most of you, it was sexual arousal. I started off by stealing my sister's underwear because I liked the way it looked and felt. That turned out to not be enough, so I began stealing her bra's too. Still not enough. Then I started trying them on and I really liked the way it felt. That was about the time she moved out, so my supply dried up. Eventually, I mustered up enough courage to walk into a department store to buy lingerie. What a rush! So much to choose from, I wish I could have it all. Still, a large lingerie collection is not enough. That was when I started buying panty hose, garters, until I eventually bought my first dress. Of course, after that I decided to "quit" and threw the whole collection away only to start over. This has happened more then once, but now I am back to the dress stage and am thinking of taking it a step further with breast forms, make up and a wig. Why do I do it? I may never know, but I do like the way it makes me feel.

There are so many reasons for me,it seems as though all of my senses are instantly in sync as soon as I'm dressed. Then there are the different parts of it that come into play such as escapism, transformation, acceptance, arousal even deception. In male mode I'm more tunnel visioned ,in femme I'm empathetic, sensitive and deeply in touch with others and myself.I feel the list could go on forever with everything on it being a righteous reason.

Dressing as a woman...there are so many ways to dress. Compared to how men dress...mens clothes are simply boring!
Yeah... I look handsome in a suit, but I also look sexy in a dress.
I can decide if I will wear jeans, a skirt, a dress, short or long sleeve blouses, casual shoes or hi-heeled pumps. I can wear my hair up, down, in a ponytail.
The lingerie choices are endless...sometimes I cant decide what to wear.
I feel good when I'm dressed, people are much more courteous, friendlier.
When I'm out and about in public, everything is so alive!
I dont even think about tripping in my heeled pumps, walking is so natural now.
My long hair tickles my neck as I fling it aside as GG's always do.
In the mall or department stores, everyone is so helpful, especially when I'm spending money!
The female clerk helps me put together several outfits, advises me on coordinating clothes. She has me try on lingerie and shapewear.
She brings me several pairs of shoes that she thinks will look good on me.
She even comments on how nice I look.
Sitting at a table in a resturant, the waiter will check on me often, asking me "is everything is all right miss, how is your steak?"
My heart does back flips at his inquiry!
Touching up my make-up, adjusting my hair, seeing my reflection in the big windows downtown, men and women look me in the eye, then give me a 'once over'.
I'm always smiling when they look at my face.
My face is framed by my long dark hair.
My body moves so gracefully.
Linsey is being Linsey.

For me it began during early puberty when I tried on a pair of my mother's panties and bra. Initially it was all sexual where I would imagine myself as a woman. I would dress in one of my mother's knee length plaid skirts and white blouse. I would then slowly strip it off imagining I was sexy. Then during college I started wearing panties and bras more often just for the comfort. I would still wear more sexy styles. G strings, thongs, teddies, corsets, bustiers were just more exciting than boring old men's boxers. During my first year of grad school I started to wear more functional everyday underwear. I also started to wear women's jeans, skirts, blouses, t shirts. It became comfortable. Like an escape from the stress of my schoolwork. I just bought my first pair of breast forms to make my look more complete. I also started to wear makeup. So in essence, I cross dress because it makes me feel relaxed.

When I dress, it makes me feel, what's the word I'm looking for, enlightened?
It's not that it really turns me on sexually so much any more, but more emotionally.
I started out like probably most everyone else, with a fetish for some kind of womans clothing.
With me it was heels, 4", 5", 6", I got freakier and freakier, eventually getting up to 8" ballet boots :o.
From there it progressed to sexy lingerie, mini skirts, mini dresses, etc...
But, I no longer have/wear any heels above 5", most are in the 2" - 4" range, most sexy lingerie has been replaced by regular cotton panties and full support bras. Minis are now knee length or longer skirts and dresses.
I still haven't been able to venture out of the house though :(
It's not that it really turns me on sexually so much any more, but more emotionally.

I dress as a woman because it makes me feel great. Not sexually but just puts me in a pleasant state of mind. I feel attractive and alive.

I tend to agree with a lot that has posted here, like
So as said Dana, we are alike in some ways, and some of us at one point or another ahve gotten turned on sexually by our dressing. I'll admit that early in my years (14-18) that I was sexually active when I dressed, but now I dress because like others it makes me feel better

Dressing as a woman...there are so many ways to dress. Compared to how men dress...mens clothes are simply boring!
Yeah... I look handsome in a suit, but I also look sexy in a dress.

I may never know, but I do like the way it makes me feel.

personally i dress up because the clothes are so comfy and i enjoy putting the make up on but i hate it when you have to take it all off again.
compared what i usually wear (black long sleeved shirt, jeans and jacket) the clothes i wear as "marcia" tend to show more of my personality. and lets face it i'm the type of guy/girl who likes to be appreciated for who they are.

I dress up to forget about having a male body underneath.
I take advantage of dressing up whenever the opportunity arrives, which isn't too often. It is the easiest way for me to feel like a woman. It is like a weight has been lifted off of me and I am free from the male chains that tie me down.
I was blessed by having a very feminine voice, especially over the phone. I use to work for AT&T/bellsouth as an operator and nearly everyone called me mam over the phone. It is another little thing that keeps me sane and happy. Just being thought of as a woman on the other end of the line is a phenomenal feeling for me. Even at my current job I am called mam when I am on the phone.
I feel like everything is enhanced in drag, my sexuality just beams. I love fantasizing about Mr. Right. :-*

I think dressing as a woman allows me to step out of my male persona and look at things from a different perspective. It's comfortable, fun and I am learning how to become someone entirely different.
There is way too much machismo in my world and I don't always like it. Most of the time it is uncalled for and down right juvenile. I'm turned off by all the chest thumping and I want to get away from it to someplace more peaceful and caring. I guess that's what is called getting in touch with my feminine side.
I also enjoy shopping now and make a point of going through the women's department very slowly when I go to a department store to check things out. I'm just a sucker for marked down sale items.

I find when i dress fem is the only time i feel comfortable 'in my skin'. I know I'm more female than male internally and its a great release and it's a great feeling to just be me but I can see me wanting more but i don't think I'm brave enough

I feel that when I wear certain, more feminine clothes that it helps me to more accurately express how I feel I "should" look. I do feel, however, that if I had a female body the clothing would be less important.

Dresses, hose and heels are generally reserved for special occasions, although I am thinking I need to start wearing them more.
......Laurry
I wear skirts, blouses, camis, flats, and low heels. I don't wear capris or pants because I wear them in male mode. I don't wear pantyhose even in winter. I like showing my legs ;D.

Dressing up has always been sexually arousing for me. In the past couple years the drive to dress is higher which in turn drives the arousal higher. Because of the lack of opportunity of dressing I've learned that if I get past the arousal part it makes me feel less stressed when I dress.
For me I think the sexual side of it has always been the easy way to stop the urges to dress. But I have learned all that does is set them aside for the next time and over time that builds up the urge to dress.

Opps, I forgot to answer the original question, "Why do you dress up as a woman." Sorry.
I dress up as a woman so that I can look, walk, talk, and feel like the woman I enjoy being when dressed up. I am strait, married, and have an understanding wife who fully loves and supports me as Teresa. The two of us have worked hard to make my femme appearance as normal and appropriate as we can so that I can "blend" in well when we go out in public.
Yes, when I am being Teresa, we also have intimate time together. My wife tells me that she never forgets that I am her husband and that I am really a male, but she is also able to sort of "pretend" outwardly that I am a girl and she treats me as one as long as I am en femme. It sure is fun!
I am one of the lucky ones and I am most appreciative of my wife's support and understanding. I work hard to let her know that in many ways too.
Good luck.

The clothing feels much nicer than standard everyday male drab and it offers more fashionable ways to dress. So many choices and things to wear, stores to go to and catalogs to look at; Oh my God, I've become a shopaholic.

I'm there with you, Dana. I feel like you're describing me.
I'm happy being a guy. But it's a real turn-on to dress up. And my wife makes me feel like a million bucks when I do. I mean, I'm not fooling her. There's nothing upstairs and too much down below to pass for a woman. I'm not trying to pass. Don't want to. Don't ever even leave the house dressed. But have a GREAT time doing it.

I dress like a woman because when I'm dressed a sense of calm comes over me. I feel whole. I have been dressing for many years but with more frequency lately. I love it and I often wonder how, if ever, will I be able to stop. I also wonder how I'll get caught, everyone does, it a matter of time. This is an activity I truly love.

I guess I dress like a woman because its me. That's not to say that I am not conflicted about it. Being born in the 40's when men had to appear to be men and women had to appear to be women your physical body stamped who you had to appear to be. Absolutes ruled. Right was right and wrong was wrong. There were boundaries you did not cross. The gender boundary was one of the strongest ones. In the 60's relativity got into the high school texts then life became "it depends and if it feels good and doesn't hurt any one its ok" ruled. I was in high school then. I wanted to be effeminate, I needed to be effiminate, but I couldn't cross the line. After all Rock Hudson and Raymond Burr and Randoff Scott were ladies men. What's a girl to do, especially if your body was more similar to theirs. I had to comform, didn't they.
It wasn't til the ninety's that I had to be free, I had to be me. Now bras are my norm and panties adorn my form. And when ever I go out I leave my breasts at home, but oh how I miss them. You see in my emotional country boundaries still conflict me, even so my nails are pink and my ears are adorned and a bra embrases my form and my panties feel warm, because maleness is not for me, even if that's what others see, inside I am feeling free.
That's because what I think about me is all I can change and if others don't see it that's of no concern to me.
Luv,
Michelle
