Title: First Day of HRT
Post by: Kirito on October 03, 2014, 07:32:43 PM
Hello, I'm Brandon.

I am the age of 18 and started cross-gender hormone replacement therapy today.
I am, as of today taking Estradiol and Lupron
So far, I have yet to feel any side effects.

My endocrinologist recommended I start at the low dose just to be on the safe side of things.
I agreed, but I felt that I should have asked for a higher dosage. Regardless, I am still happy that I finally started.
He said his plan was to increase the increment of my Estradiol dosage every six months. Eventually in two or so years,

I might even start a Vlog on YouTube or something just to share my story and experiences with other trans people or curious people for the sake of maybe even helping another person.

Sincerely,
Brandon

Congrats Kirito. I know the day I started was a great day in deed. Given your age things I'm sure will go very well for you with HRT, I wish I was able to start earlier but was not the case and that's all good.

I always just listen to my endo and GP. Don't be tempted to stray away from their advice, they have been doing this longer than me anyway lol

Hi Kirito  :icon_wave:

Welcome to Susan's  :)  Glad to have you here, join on in the fun

HRT takes awhile to take hold and it sounds like your Dr. is following proper protocol, it will probably be 1-3 months before you start to experience much of a change and 6 months to a year for any real significant changes

Keep in mind it generally takes 3-5 years or more for genetic girls to develop into women

Meanwhile, here's some interesting topics to look over
