Susan's Place Transgender Resources

It has been almost a year since I joined Susans and I wanted to say that doing that actually completely changed my life for the better. I was told about this forum by someone from a another thread after I almost lost it. I was sinking further and further into depression again and I still remember the anxiety I felt when just thinking about getting out of bed and having to live the life of the so called woman I tried so hard to be. Then I found everyone here, I wrote up an introduction and less then 24 hours later I had come out to my friends, sisters and everyone I was meeting in everyday life, two days after I joined I came out to my dad and his wife, and then just slowly but surely I came out to the rest of the world. It's almost strange to think that was only about a year ago.
It was here I found support, people who could understand what it was that I was going through and told me that it did not change a thing about me. My gender identity did not make me any worse of a person, or any less loved of a human being. The few members I spoke to when I got started here gave me courage to come out of my shell, that little fort I had created around myself over the years.
Yesterday I got some news I wanted to share and I thought things over, and what better place to share the news then with the people and the community who have given me support from the start.
The past year has been one hell of a bumpy road, coming out and living as the right gender, the hurtful words and the acceptance I have been getting to know is something I never knew could feel just so right. Sure, I have had my bad days, but I have also had some good ones as well. Everyday is something I have just taken in and learned from, it's what makes me who I am.
Though, I'm getting side tracked here, back to the news I got yesterday. I went to meet the guy who is a head of the whole gender team here in Iceland and he told me I would be starting T at the start of December. Just two months from now I will be going on Hormones! I actually danced out of his office.... Me, who usually actually manages to keep most of his emotions constantly under control, danced out when I was making my next appointment.
I just can't believe it, I am finally going to start T!! Wow, though I will admit, there is still a voice in the back of my head that is telling me not to get my hopes up, asking questions such as; what if next month he changes his mind? Though, I am trying just to tell those thoughts off and allow myself to be happy with the news, since I should!
I also wanted to share something else. About two weeks ago I got a message from someone asking me to take on being an artist for a Visual Novel. For those who don't know what that is, Visual Novel is sort of like a game. If anyone has ever seen or played any of the dating sim Anime games will know what I mean I think. But what it pretty much is is a story line you follow, that gives you options on what you would like to say or do next. I accepted and am now a head of the arts team for that game and currently will be doing all the art for the game unless we get another artist on board to work with me. I just still can't believe that someone would ask me to do such a job, it's an awesome feeling :D
Well, I think I should probably get myself closer to put this to a finish since it is becoming a lot longer then I had originally planned. But what I wanted to say is thanks to all of those who have shown me support, and to the new people on her on Susan's I want to tell you that this forum is absolutely wonderful when it comes to support. There is always someone who is willing to help, offer a hand or to listen when they can.

Many many claps for your awesome news! It is so exciting and I'm so happy that things are really coming together for you. Susans has definitely been a safe place for me to stretch my wings and figure out exactly how to fly!

Thanks everyone!! I am so excited about finally starting T that I am hoping December just comes today xD But time will surely pass pretty quickly :)

Wow!  :o  It really has been a year already, hasn't it??  Seems like just yesterday we were tearing up the intro boards and throwing around pies and puppies and confetti and getting dubbed the village hooligans. xD Haha

It has been quite a year!!  So much has happened, it seems short, and long, and short at the same time... if that makes any sense at all. xD

I know I already said this on Skype, but congrats again on your T date!!  You've come a long way, man.  You've earned it! :)
