Today will be the hardest day of my life...Today I am being forced to sign the divorce papers...Today I lose my best friend, my love...Oct 17 would have been 21 years...we almost made it :'(

Oh Frankie, I've been there. Didn't quite make it to our 21st. I feel really adrift and disconnected without my soulmate. Hugs and good thoughts sent your way.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I have been with my wife for 14 years she too is my soulmate, I also can't fight the feeling that I have and I had my entire life, all you can do is hope that they understandand and if not do what is best to make you happy in the long run because as they say you only live once! I should listen to my own advice!

My wife and soulmate of 27 years walked away from me when I got serious about transitioning so I know what you are going through. It will just take time; and old memories will pop up every once in a while that you'll have to deal with. YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS - if it gets too hard then come here and vent sweetie. Meanwhile you are in a fragile state right now - please be kind to yourself. You are just doing what needs to be done for your survival and you did nothing wrong.

I read this recently but cannot remember where - -
It is hard to lose the one to whom you can say, "Do you remember when - - -"
No we don't live in the past but neither do we live only in the today or only plan on the tomorrow - -
memories are building blocks and not all bad and sad when there is not "the one" to share.

I think this is so much better then going to sit in an office with someone who went to school to learn how to help people deal with life's problems. Susan's has become my run to place and now you all are stuck with me...
