Title: Jim Collins Foundation

Hello brothers - Just wondering if anyone else has applied  for the Jim Collins Foundation Grant? If so, have you had contact from them yet? Thanks.

Kim

I applied to them this year.  They said that if you don't hear from them by November 1st, then you didn't get the scholarship.

To be honest, I don't think I'm going to get it so I'm already making alternative plans for pay.

Yeah, me too on the plan B. Although plan B may take 3 years to pan out. Frustrating.

I feel your pain.  In my plan B, it is going to nuke my entire savings down to zero.  Not looking forward to that....

That sucks dude. I am 51 and finally started my transition. Been on T for 1 month. Getting old and not much time to waste lol Currently on disability and Medicaid so it is rough. Hang in there, you are not alone!

Congrats on starting T not too long ago, mate!  With your story, you will have a better chance of landing the scholarship than me!  I'm 22, but sometimes, I feel so much older because of this whole trans thing I deal with.

Hi, I am just learning about this. Are there any other grants that transgender individuals can apply to but stay stealth?

You have to have at least 15 posts before you can send messages.

The thing about this scholarship is that it's open to Mtfs for FFS or SRS too so it's possible maybe a couple of them obtained the scholarship.  Not that I'm saying that they don't need/deserve it, but it would be pretty cool if there was a transgender scholarship that only focused on top surgery.  I would do that if I was extremely rich!
